Próximos viajes. Next trips.

This post is about two trips we have made to be able to photograph the Wallcreeper that during the winter are in Guadalajara. It is very easy to photograph them and very comfortable because you do not have to climb to the mountain tops to see them. The disadvantage is that they are in winter plumage and not as dark as during summer.

The first trip was private for a person who wanted to photograph the Wallcreeper and the Alpine Accentors that are also usually seen in this same place.

The second trip was we scheduled the weekend and there are always more people although in this case there was no one, although it was not surprising because the day was very bad.

Viaje privado el día 19 de noviembre:
Private trip on November 19th:

On this day the weather was very good and sunny. The temperatures were very pleasant because they were high for this place that being a shady is always quite cold.

This is the place where we are going to see this emblematic species. A very beautiful canyon on the banks of the Entrepeñas reservoir.

The first who appear were Alpine accentors.

Son unas aves muy bonitas.
They are very pretty Birds.

Y bastante confiadas.
And somewhat tame.

After a while waiting a Wallcreeper appeared.

It spent a while walking along the rocky wall in search of food.

At the end it got close enough to have good photos.

What I like most is to see it with open wings. It is when it shows the beauty of wings color.

Then we decided to walk around to see what other birds we could photograph. We saw this Blue Rock Thrush male.

También hay buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus).
There are also Griffon Vultures.

Petirrojo europeo (Erithacus rubecula).
European Robin.

Herrerillo capuchino (Lophophanes cristatus).
Crested Tit.

Agateador europeo (Certhia brachydactyla).
Short-toed Treecreeper.

Y carbonero garrapinos (Periparus ater).
And Coal Tit.

And in the afternoon we made a new attempt with the Wallcreeper. The first thing we saw were the Alpine Accentors.

And a little later the Wallcreeper but not as close as during the morning.

Pero tampoco es como para quejarse.
But it's not like to complain either.

Throughout the day we saw many flocks of Common Cranes in migration towards south.

Viaje programado del 21 de diciembre:
Private trip on November 19th:

On this day the weather could not be worse because in the morning it rained a lot and at noon a strong wind of more than 40 km / hour rose.

Some Griffon Vultures decided to fly away in search of food.

And after a long wait Wallcreeper appeared.

It shows in the photos that there was much less light and that it was not as close as on our first trip.

It was a shame because when the Bird was coming towards us, a car appeared and chase it away.

Anyway, we enjoyed watching it climbing on rocks.

At noon it stopped raining and the sun came out but a very strong wind began to blow. This day no sign of the Alpine Accentors but as a reward we could see this Bonelli's Eagle.

With the sun Griffon Vultures were more lively.

And then a pair of Bonelli's Eagles appeared. As you can see, the one in the photo carried branches for its nest.

It was very difficult for it to go where the nest should be due to the strong wind.

After lunch we decided to leave because with the wind it was impossible for any small Bird to walk down the canyon. We almost had trouble for walking.

As it was early to get to Madrid and we had already said in our homes that we would arrive at sunset I had the bad idea of approaching a park in Madrid to see some waterfowl. Everyone accepted and there we went.

In the photo a Mallard male.

The target was to see Egyptian Goose that there were many.

Tarros canelo (Tadorna ferruginea). En la foto un macho.
Ruddy Shelducks. In the photo a male.

And although they usually see Red-crested Pochard this day there were none. In the photo another Ruddy Shelduck.

Females have part of their face white and do not have the neck black collar.

Happy New Year 2020 for everyone and until the next post.

May this year that begins bring you health, good lights and better Bird sightings.
