Pajareando por Extremadura. Birding Extremadura.


Hola otra vez.
Hi again.

Esta nueva entrada trata sobre un viaje de dos días a Extremadura.
This new post is about a two day trip to Extremadura.

El primer día visitamos el Parque Ornitológico de Arrocampo y sus alrededores y el segundo el Valle del Tiétar que  esta entre las provincias de Toledo, Ávila y Cáceres.
The first day we visited the Arrocampo Ornithological Park and its surroundings and the second the Tiétar Valley which is between the provinces of Toledo, Avila and Caceres.

El tiempo fue muy bueno y caluroso para la época del año en la que estamos.
The weather was very good and hot for this time of the year.

He separado las fotos de algunas de las especies de aves vistas en los dos días que duró el viaje.
I have separated the photos taken of the Birds species seen in the two days of the trip.

PRIMER DÍA:
FIRST DAY:


Antes de llegar a Arrocampo hicimos una parada en el camino para tomar un café y vimos a este confiado Alcaudón real meridional (Lanius meridionalis). Durante los dos días vimos muchos.
Before reaching Arrocampo we stopped along the way to have a coffee and saw this entrusted Southern Grey Shrike. During the two days we saw many.



Este otro ya estaba en Arrocampo.
This one was already at Arrocampo.


Éste fue el primer elanio común (Elanus caeruleusque vimos sin sospechar que íbamos a ver muchos más.
This was the first Black-shouldered Kite we saw without suspecting that we would see many more.


Buitre negro (Aegypius monachus).
Black Vulture.


Calamón común (Porphyrio porphyrio).
Purple Swamp-hen.



Había bastantes aguiluchos laguneros occidentales (Circus aeruginosus). El la foto un macho a la izquierda y la otra es una hembra. 
There were many Eurasian Marsh Harrier. Pictured left a male and the other is a female.


Macho. Me encanta la fuerza de su mirada.
Male. I love the strength of his gaze.

Female.


Garceta grande (Egretta alba). Sin embargo no tuvimos la suerte de ver o escuchar a los avetoros comunes (Botaurus stellaris) ni a los avetorillos comunes (Ixobrychus minutu).
Great White Egret. However we were not lucky enough to see or hear neither Great Bittern nor Little Bittern.


Vimos varios grupos de agachadizas comunes (Gallinago gallinago).
We saw several flocks of Common Snipes.



Avefría europea (Vanellus vanellus).
Northern Lapwing.


Mosquitero común (Phylloscopus collybita).
Common Chiffchaff.


Focha común (Fulica atra).
Common Coot.


Gallineta común (Gallinula chloropus).
Moorhen.


Bisbita alpino (Anthus spinoletta).
Water Pipit.


Andarríos chico (Actitis hypoleucos).
Common Sandpiper.


Garceta común (Egretta garzetta).
Little Egret.


Macho de tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).
Male of Common Stonechat.


Escribano triguero (Miliaria calandra).
Corn Bunting.


Algunos de los elanios comunes (Elanus caeruleus) vistos.

Es una pena que sean tan desconfiados.
It's a shame that they are so distrustful.



Al atardecer nos fuimos a ver el paso las grulla comunes (Grus grus) a sus lugares de pernocte.
In the late afternnon we went to see the passage of the Common Crane to their overnight places.


Un adulto con uno de sus jóvenes del año.
An adult with one of its juveniles of this year.


Mientras esperábamos la puesta del sol saqué e estos estorninos negros (Sturnus unicolor).
While we where waiting sunset I took a photo of these Spotless Starlings.


Y enseguida comenzaron a pasar las grullas comunes (Grus grus).
And very early began to pass Common Cranes.



Me sorprendió la cantidad de ellas que pasaron.
I was surprised they were so many.





Un estupendo e inolvidable atardecer.
A wonderful and unforgettable sunset.


SEGUNDO DÍA:
SECOND DAY:


El Almanzor al poco rato del amanecer.
The Almanzor soon after sunrise.


Había bastantes avefrías europeas (Vanellus vanellus).
There were many Northern Lapwing.



Milano real (Milvus milvus).
Red Kite.


Vimos dos águilas imperiales ibéricas (Aquila adalberti).
We saw two Spanish Imperial Eagle.




Alcaudón real meridional (Lanius meridionalis).
Southern Grey Shrike.



Busardo ratonero (Buteo buteo).
Common Buzzard.


Me gusta mucho ver los Cerdos ibéricos en el campo.
I love watching the Iberian Pigs in the open.


Gorrión chillón (Petronia petronia).
Rock Sparrow.


Pinzón vulgar (Fringilla coelebs).
Common Chaffinch.


Abubilla europea (Upupa epops).
Eurasian Hoopoe.


Bisbita pratense (Anthus pratensis).
Meadow Pipit.


Había bastantes zorzales charlos (Turdus viscivorus).
There were many Mistle Thrushes.



Tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).
Common Stonechat.


Petirrojo europeo (Erithacus rubecula).
European Robin.


Y también abundaban las grullas comunes (Grus grus).
And also abounded Common Cranes.


Vimos bastantes grupos familiares con dos jóvenes de este año.
We saw several families groups with two juveniles of this year.




Este año las flores han salido antes de lo esperado debido al buen tiempo.
This year flowers have bloomed earlier than expected due to good weather.



Machuelo europeo (Athene noctua).
Little Owl.


Macho de aguilucho pálido (Circus cyaneus).
Male of Hen Harrier.


Elanio común (Elanus caeruleus).
Black-shouldered Kite.


Garza real (Ardea cinerea).
Grey Heron.


Ánades azulones (Anas platyrhynchos).
Mallards.


Un grupo de ánsares comunes (Anser anser)  volando por debajo de las grullas comunes (Grus grus).
A group of Greylag Geese flying underneath Common Cranes.


Machos de roqueros solitarios (Monticola solitarius) asociados a construcciones humanas.
Males of Blue Rock Thrushes associated with human structures.






También vimos varios bandos de rabilargos ibéricos (Cyanopica cookii) pero ninguno quiso salir retratado decentemente.
We also saw several flocks of magpies Iberian (Iberian Magpie) but none wanted to be decently portrayed.


Había bastantes zorzales alirrojos (Turdus iliacus) pero muy asustadizos.
There were many Redwings but very scary.



Y en algunos casos difíciles de encontrar entre el follaje de los robles.
And in some cases difficult to find among the foliage of the Oaks.


Colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochruros).
Black Redstart.


Como parecía que los zorzales alirrojos (Turdus iliacus) estaban comiendo los frutos de los espinos albares (Crataegus monogyna) decidimos esperar cerca de algunos a ver si teníamos suerte y bajaban a comer.
As it appeared that Redwings were eating the fruits of the Common Hawthorns we decided to wait close to some of them to see if we were lucky and they came down to eat.


Después de diez minutos de espera llego el primer picogordo (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) aunque ya los estábamos viendo por los alrededores.
After ten minutes of waiting came the first Hawfinch although we were seeing them close by.




Y enseguida se animaros los zorzales alirrojos (Turdus iliacus).
And very soon came Redwings.



Somormujo lavanco (Podiceps cristatus).
Great Crested Grebe.


Y cuando ya regresábamos a Madrid vimos este mochuelo europeo (Athene noctua).
And when we were returning to Madrid we saw this little owl.
