Cabra montés. Spanihs Ibex

En esta ocasión os muestro algunas de las fotos que pude tomar el pasado 15 de diciembre de las cabras montesas (Capra pyrenaica victoriae) en Gredos.

On this occasion I show you some of the photos that I was able to take last December 15 of the Spanish Ibes at Gredos.

El tiempo fue muy bueno aunque hacía  frío pero al sol se estaba muy bien.
The weather was very good although it was cold but it was very nice in the sun.

No llegamos a subir hasta la  Plataforma de Gredos pues nos encontramos un rebaño muy grande a la orilla de la carretera, no mu lejos de la Plataforma. En la imagen uno de los machos adultos que estaba pastando cerca nuestro.

We did not manage to climb up to the Gredos Platform because we found a very large herd on the side of the road, not far from the Platform. In the image one of the adult Buck that was grazing near us.

Había mas de 100 ejemplares que se fueron separando en dos grupos y que subieron, poco a poco, hacia la montaña.

There were more than 100 specimens that separated into two groups and climbed, little by little, towards the mountain.

Quisimos ir detrás del grupo más grande y que no estuviesen a contraluz pero el río nos lo impidió. Intentamos vadearlo pero había mucho hielo en las rocas y no nos atrevimos a pasarlo.

We wanted to go behind the largest group so that they were not backlit, but the river prevented us from doing so. We tried to ford it but there was a lot of ice on the rocks and we did not manage to cross it.

Este era el que tenía los cuernos más grandes.

This was the one with biggest horns.

Después de un buen rato intentando cruzar el río, decidimos subir a la Plataforma para subir por los senderos a ver si éramos capaces e encontrar mas cabras. Nos dimos un bue paseo por las montañas pero no vimos nada de interés. Solo encontramos un pequeño grupo de individuos jóvenes con acompañando a tres hembras.

After a long time trying to cross the river, we decided to go up to the Platform to go up the trails to see if we were able to find more Ibex. We took a good walk through the mountains but didn't see anything of interest. We only found a small group of young individuals with three Does accompanying them.

Después de almorzar, regresamos a la zona donde habíamos visto los ejemplares  por la mañana y nos encontramos con varios grupos pero más pequeños. La luz ya nos cogía mejor.

After lunch, we went back to see if there were specimens where we had seen them in the morning and we found several but smaller groups. The light was already catching us better.

Uno de los rebaños lo tuvimos muy cerca.

Siempre me llama ala atención lo ágiles que son y como andan por las paredes rocosas que son inaccesibles para otros animales.

I am always struck by how agile they are and how they walk along rock walls that are inaccessible to other animals.

Un bonito macho aunque aun no tiene la edad suficiente para tener los cuernos muy grandes.

A nice Buck although he is not yet old enough to have very large horns.

Otro de los grupos más lejano pero con machos con más edad y mejores cuernos.

Another of the more distant groups but with older Bucks and with larger horns.

Y esto fue lo que dio de si la excursión a la Sierra de Gredos para ver y fotografiar a las cabras montesas (Capra pyrenaica victoriae) de este año.

And this was the highlight of this year's excursion to the Sierra de Gredos to see and photograph the Spanish Ibex.

A continuación, os muestro mis excursiones desde el año 2016 (pues el disco externo se me cayo al suelo y no he podido rescatar más fotos de años anteriores) para que veáis un resumen de lo que he podido observar y fotografiar durante estos años de mis encuentros con las cabras.

Below, I show you my excursions since 2016 (because the external drive fell to the ground and I have not been able to rescue more photos from previous years) so that you can see a summary of what I have been able to observe and photograph during these years of my meetings with the Spanish Ibex.
