In the following link you can see our next national and foreign Birds and Mammals photographic and observation trips. I hope you like them and I encourage you to come with me. An experience that you will not forget.

This week I show you some photos that I was able to take on a visit to the Monfrague National Park. As close to the community of Madrid it is only open to visit Extremadura, decided to visit this wonderful place.

The first part of the day was foggy, as expected, but not very cold.

Before reaching the first observation point, some Common Cranes could be seen through the fog. In the photo an adult.

Joven.
Juvenile.

On the left a juvenile and next to it an adult.

Zorzal charlo (Turdus viscivorus).
Mistle Thrush.

We had to wait a long time in the observatory until the fog started to lift. As the sun began to break through the mist, Griffon Vultures began to dry their feathers.

And so did Black Vultures.

A Spanish Imperial Eagle also show up.

A pair of Eurasian Otters entertained me for a long time.

Precioso animal.
Beautiful animal.

El sol pudo con la niebla.
Sun beat fog.

And when the Griffon Vultures were dry enough, they began to fly in search of food.

Rabilargo ibérico (Cyanopica Kooki).
Iberian Magpie.

Un milano real (Milvus milvus).
A Red Kite.

When I was going to another of the observatories, I saw a group of Black Vultures cycling. There were 5 copies.

It is the Bird that has the largest wingspan in the Iberian Peninsula. They can measure 3 meters.

Garza real (Ardea cinerea).
Grey Heron.

También había varios ciervos comunes (Cervus elaphus). En la foto un macho.
There were also several Red Deer. In the photo a Stag.

Hembra.
Hind.

As usual, in the Salto del Gitano there were many Griffon Vultures.

At least I saw three different males of Blue Rock Thrush.

One of them had partial leucism. It is the first time I have seen an individual of this species with this chromatic aberration.

Otro de los machos.
Another male.

Y el tercero.
And the third one.

I fleetingly saw the pair of Peregrine Falcons.

Hembra/joven de aguilucho pálido (Circus cyaneus).
Female/juvenile of Hen Harrier.

Then I went up to the castle to see if I could take out the Vultures in flight. It was not a good afternoon of flights in the area but some passed nearby. In the photo a Griffon Vulture.

Buitre negro (Aegypius monachus).
Black Vulture.

Since there wasn't much action, I decided to take photos of other Birds. In the photo a male Common Chaffinch.

Herrerillo común (Cyanistes caeruleus).
Blue Tit.

Una hembra de colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochruros).
Black Redstart female.

Preciosas aves.
Before leaving the park, I passed by where a pair of Bonelli's Eagles usually perch and I was lucky because they were there. The female is the largest and is the one on the right. Beautiful Birds.

I leave you a video that I took with the terrestrial telescope and the cell phone of this pair.

On the way back to Madrid I made a stop to watch the sunset and Common Cranes  going to their roosting pllace.

Las primeras en pasar.
The first to pass.

El cielo se puso espectacular.
The sky was spectacular.

Y el paso de las grullas también.
As well as the Common Cranes.
