En este blog os muestro las fotos que pude tomar en la visita de medio día a Madrid Río y la Casa de Campo de Madrid a mediados de octubre.

In this blog I show you the photos I was able to take during a half-day visit to Madrid Río and the Casa de Campo in Madrid in mid October.

Hizo muy buen tiempo y pasé una mañana muy entretenida.

The weather was very good and I had a very pleasant morning.

Mi primer destino fue los jardines de Madrid Río para fotografiar al pito real ibérico (Picus sharpei). En la foto un bonito macho.

My first destination was the gardens of Madrid Río to photograph the Iberian Green Woodpecker. In the photo a beautiful male.

Esta especie presenta dimorfismo sexual y los macho, a diferencia de las hembras, tienen bigoteras rojas. En las hembras son negro grisáceo.

This species presents sexual dimorphism and males, unlike females, have red whiskers. In females they are greyish black.

Es un  placer poder acercarse tanto a estas aves en lugares que se han acostumbrado a las personas y permiten un acercamiento ya que en el campo son bastante desconfiados. Claro está, dándoles su espacio y esperando a que se acostumbren a ti.

It is a pleasure to be able to get so close to these Birds in places that have become accustomed to people and allow an approach since in the field they are quite distrustful. Of course, giving them their space and waiting them to get used to you.

Hembra. Fijaos en el color de las bigoteras.

Female. Look at the color of her whiskers.

Luego hice un corto recorrido por el río Manzanares. Lo más destacado fue ver a este macho de cuchara común (Spatula clypeata) con plumaje nupcial.

Then I took a short tour in the Manzanares River. The highlight was seeing this male Northern Shoveler in breeding plumage.

En el lago de la Casa de Campo había bastantes gansos del Nilo (Alopochen aegyptiaca).

In the Casa de Campo lake there were quite a few Egyptian Goose.

Y un solitario ánsar común (Anser anser).

And a single Greylag Goose.

Luego, me cambie de zona dentro de la Casa de Campo para poder ver y fotografiar algunas otras especies de aves. Mi primer encuentro fue con una pareja de reyezuelos listados (Regulus ignicapilla).

Later, I changed the area inside the Casa de Campo to be able to see and photograph some other species of birds. My first encounter was with a pair of Firecrest.

Son unas aves muy bonitas y muy pequeñas.

They are very beautiful and very small Birds.

De entre los herrerillos y carboneros mi preferido es el herrerillo capuchino (Lophophanes cristatus).

Among Tits, my favorite is the Crested Tit.

Carbonero garrapinos (Periparus ater).

Coal Tit.

Trepador azul (Sitta europaea).

European Nuthatch.

Otra ave muy bonita pero que al verla con bastante frecuencia no la damos la importancia que merece.

Another very beautifull Bird but as we see it quite often we do not give it the importance it deserves.

Carbonero común (Parus major).

Great Tit.

Pinzón vulgar (Fringilla coelebs). A esta especie le ocurre lo mismo que al trepador azul. En la foto un bonito macho.

Common Chaffinch. The same thing happens to this species as the Nuthatch. In the photo a beautiful male.

Las hembras de esta especie son menos llamativas que los machos.

Females of this species are less showy than males.

Otra especie que me gusta mucho por su llamativo plumaje son los herrerillos comunes (Cyanistes caeruleus).

Another species that I really like for its striking plumage are Blue Tits.

Gorrión molinero (Passer montanus).

Eurasian Tree Sparrow.

Y para finalizar os subo un par de fotos de una urraca común (Pica pica) en las que  puede apreciar su bonito plumaje iridiscente sobre todo en sus alas y cola.

And finally, I will upload a couple of photos of a Common Magpie in which you can appreciate its beautiful iridescent plumage, especially its wings and tail.
