En esta ocasión os muestro lo que pude fotografiar en el viaje organizado a mediados de septiembre para ver a los chorlitos carambolos (Charadrius morinellus) y algunos humedales de La Mancha. 

This time I show you what I was able to photograph on the organized trip at the beginning of September to observe the Eurasian Dotterel and some wetlands of La Mancha.

Fue más un viaje de observación que de fotografía pues los chorlitos se mantuvieron a cierta distancia y en los humedales de La Mancha, al no tener mucha agua, las aves estaban lejos. De todos modos con el telescopio terrestre se les podía ver e identificar sin ningún problema.
It was more of an observation trip than a photography trip because Plovers stayed at a certain distance and in the wetlands of La Mancha, as they did not have much water, Birds were far away. In any case, with the terrestrial telescope they could be seen and identified without any problem.

En total pudimos ver unas 80 especies de aves que para un solo día no está nada mal.
In total we were able to spot about 80 Bird species, which for a single day is not bad at all.

El tiempo fue muy bueno aunque pasamos algo de calor al medio día.

The weather was very good although we were a bit hot at noon.

Mientras buscábamos a los chorlitos carambolos (Charadrius morinellus) vimos ottras aves como este bisbita campestre (Anthus campestris).

While we were looking for the Eurasian Dotterel we saw other Birds like this Tawny Pipit.

También pudimos ver varias collalbas grises (Oenanthe oenanthe) en plumaje de invierno y que estaban en paso migratorio hacía África.

We were also able to spot several Northern Wheatear in winter plumage and that were on their way to Africa.

Y por fin dimos con los chorlitos carambolos (Charadrius morinellus). Encontramos dos bandos, el primero muy numeroso y el segundo de 12 ejemplares, si no recuerdo mal.

And finally we found the Eurasian Dotterel. We found two flocks, the first very numerous and the second of 12 copies, if I remember correctly.

Esta especie es la más pequeña de los tres chorlitos que podemos ver en nuestro territorio alcanzando los 24 cm. de longitud. Aunque existen citas de individuos que se han reproducido en los Pirineos, su número como ave reproductora es muy limitado o en muchos años nula. En plumaje nupcial, la hembra es la que exhibe unos colores más intensos pues es el macho el que lleva a cabo la incubación y cuidado de los pollos. Pasa los inviernos en las regiones áridas del norte de África y Oriente Medio mientras que su reproducción, exceptuando lo anteriormente mencionado, es principalmente en zonas subárticas y de tundra.
This species has a lenght of 24 cm. Although there are records of individuals that have reproduced in the Pyrenees, their number as a breeding Bird is very limited or in many years none. In breeding plumage, the female is the one that exhibits more intense colors since it is the male who carries out the incubation and care of the chicks. It spends winters in the arid regions of North Africa and Middle East while its reproduction, except for the aforementioned, is mainly in subarctic and tundra areas.

El segundo grupo estaba más cerca de la furgoneta.

The second group was closer to the van.

Un video que saque de ellos con el telescopio terrestre y el teléfono móvil.

A video that I took of them with the scope and my cellular.

También vimos varios grupos de avutardas comunes (Otis tarda) pero todas muy asustadizas.

We also saw several flocks of Great Bustard but all very skittish.

La única laguna que tenía bastante agua era la de la Veguilla del complejo lagunas de Alcázar de San Juan. En la foto un grupo de flamencos comunes (Phoenicopterus ruber).

The only lagoon that had enough water was La Veguilla lagoon of the Alcázar de San Juan lagoon complex. In the photo a group of Greater Flamingo.

Gallineta común (Gallinula chloropus) joven.

A juvenile Moorhen.

En la izquierda se puede ver un macho de malvasía cabeciblanca (Oxyura leucocephala) y en la derecha un pato colorado (Netta rufina).

On the left you can see a male White-headed Duck  and on the right a Red-crested Pochard.

Por la coloración rojiza del pico, se puede ver que este pato colorado (Netta rufina) es un macho.

From the reddish coloration of the bill, you can see that this Red-crested Pochard is a male. 

Este morito común (Plegadis falcinellus) fue el ave que más cerca tuvimos pero no quiso salir de la protección que le brindaban los carrizos para que le sacásemos una buena foto.

This Glossy Ibis was the closest Bird we had but it did not want to leave the protection provided by the reeds so that we could take a nice photo.

Los siempre elegantes flamencos comunes (Phoenicopterus ruber).

The always elegant Greater Flamingo.

Zampullín común (Tachybaptus ruficollis).

Little Grebe.

En la Laguna del Camino a Villafranca había muchas cigüeñas blancas (Ciconia ciconia).

In the lagoon Laguna del Camino a Villafranca there were many White Storks.

También había bastantes especies de aves limícolas. Chorlitejos, correlimos, andarríos, combatientes, avefrías europeas, archibebes, agachadizas comunes, aguja colinegra, y canastera común. También vimos lavandera boyera.

There were also quite a few species of wading birds. Plovers, sandpipers, Ruff,  Black-tailed Godwit, Northern Lapwing, Commún Redshanks, Common Snipe and Collared Pratincole. We also saw Yellow wagtail.

Acto seguido nos fuimos a las lagunas de Villafranca de los Caballeros. En la laguna grande lo más destacado fue un águila pescadora (Pandion haliaetus) que nos pasó muy cerca pero yo no llevaba en ese momento la cámara fotográfica conmigo.

Then we went to the lagoons of Villafranca de los Caballeros. In the Laguna Grande, the highlight was an osprey (Pandion haliaetus) that passed us very close but I did not have my camera with me at the time.

Sin embargo, aunque no tenía mucha agua, la Laguna Chica estaba muy animada. Había gran cantidad de aves.

However, although it did not have much water, the Laguna Chica was very lively. There were lots of Birds.

Garzas reales (Ardea cinerea) y garcetas grandes (Egretta alba).

Gray Herons and Great White Egrets.

De anátidas, pudimos observar ánade azulón (Anas platyrhynchos), ánade friso (Anas strepera), cuchara común (Spatula clypeata), cerceta común (Anas crecca), porrón europeo (Aythya ferina) y pato colorado (Netta rufina).

Among Ducks, we were able to spot Mallard, Gadwall, Northern Shoveler,  Common Teal, Common Pochard  and Red-crested Pochard.

Como se puede apreciar en la foto, algunos machos de pato colorado (Netta rufina) ya estaban empezando a lucir su plumaje invernal.

As can be seen in the photo, some male Red-crested Pochard were already beginning to show off their winter plumage.

Gaviotas reidoras (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) y gaviotas sombrías (Larus fuscus).

Black-headed Gulls and Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

Algunas veces se ponían todas a volar.

Sometimes they would all fly.

Y no les faltaba razón pues los aguiluchos laguneros occidentales (Circus aeruginosus) andaban de caza por la laguna.

And they were right because some Eurasian Marsh Harriers were hunting in the lagoon.

Un grupo de ánades frisos (Anas strepera).

A  Gadwall fock. 

Después nos fuimos a la última laguna que visitamos en este viaje que fue la Laguna Larga de Villacañas, que aunque estaba casi totalmente seca, en el riachuelo que sale de la desembocadura de las aguas residuales de la depuradora suelen ir arias especies de aves a alimentarse. No saque ninguna foto pero como destacado vimos un grupo de tarro blanco (Tadorna tadorna), maco de ruiseñor pechiazul (Luscinia svecica), tarabilla norteña (Saxicola rubetra), muchos chorlitejos patinegros (Charadrius alexandrinus), archibebe claro (Tringa nebularia), combatientes (Calidris pugnax) y gangas ibéricas (Pterocles alchata).

Then we went to the last lagoon that we visited on this trip, which was the Laguna Larga de Villacañas, which, although it was almost completely dry, in the stream that comes out of the mouth of the wastewater from the treatment plant, various species of Birds usually go to feed. I didn't take any photos but as a highlight we saw a flock of Common Sheduck, a male Bluethroated , Whinchat, many Kentish Plovers, Greenshank, Ruff and Pin-tailed Sandgrouse.

Y ya cuando estábamos regresando a Madrid, decidí pasarme por un lugar donde les gusta mucho estar a los sisones comunes (Tetrax tetrax). Tuvimos suerte y vimos dos grupos, uno de ellos bastante numeroso.

And when we were returning to Madrid, I decided to stop by a place where Little Bustards really like to be. We were lucky and saw two groups, one of them quite large.
