This post is about the Birds that I could see on the trip to the Monfraüe National Park to participate in the International Fair of Ornithology (FIO 2019) that was held on February 22, 23 and 24.

You can always look for a while to go Birdwatching.

I think what most caught my attention was this harassment that an Iberian imperial eagle (Aquila adalberti) made to a black vulture (Aegypius monachus).

Pero dejadme que empecemos por el principio.
But let's start by the beginning.

As soon as we arrived we saw how this Iberian Spanish Imperial Eagle was very active and did not stop flying and claim its territory.

Que majestuosas son.
How majestic they are.

We saw how in some occasions it landed on the ground and grabbed the branches for its nest with its claws and then took them with its beak.

In one of its flights it was disturbed by the presence of a Black Vulture and dived after it.

OMG what is comming over me.

Fueron unos momentos inolvidables. La adrenalina en su puro estado.
They were unforgettable moments. The adrenaline in its pure state.

Que bárbaro.
Wow.

Al final la imperial perdió interés.
In the end the Spanish Imperial lost interest.

Also the Common Raven where in truble.

But the latter are faster than the Spanish Imperial Eagle.

Que ave tan bonita.
What a beautiful Bird.

Busardo ratonero (Buteo buteo).
Common Buzzard.

Vimos muchos cormoranes grandes (Phalacrocorax carbo).
We saw many Great Cormorants.

Un bando numeroso.
A numeros flock.

Buitres negros (Aegypius monachus).
Black Vultures.

Ya habían llegado varias cigüeñas negras (Ciconia nigra).
Several black storks (Ciconia nigra) had already arrived.

Milano real (Milvus milvus).
Red Kite.

Macho de cernícalo vulgar (Falco tinnunculus).
Common Kestrel male.

Vimos varios machos de roquero solitarios (Monticola solitarius).
We saw several Blue Rock Thrushes.

Macho de escribano montesino (Emberiza cia).
Rock Bunting male.

Como siempre había muchos buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus).
As always there were many Griffon Vultures.

It is wonderful to be able to watch and photograph them at your height or even you been above them.

Guau.
Wow.

A whole turn of a Griffon Vulture.

They are very big. They can measure from 235 to 265 centimeters wingspan.

Some came so close that they did not fit me in the photo.

I think this has been enough. I am boring you with so much Vulture photo.

We also saw several Peregrine Falcons.

We saw only a pair of Egyptian Vultures.

They had not all arrived yet because they were still in migration.

Chochín común (Troglodytes troglodytes).
Winter Wren.

Vimos varias mariposas vulcanas (Vanessa atalanta).
We saw some Red Admiral.

Había ya muchas golondrinas comunes (Hirundo rustica).
There were already many Barn Swallow.

We also saw a pair of Bonelli's Eagles.

A juvenile Golden Eagle entertained us very much with its presence. It seemed that itv was very hungry because he made several dives to the Wood Pigeons.

También hostigo a unos buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus).
It also harass some griffon vultures.

Menudas garras tiene el animalito.
They have tremendous claws.

And after the harassment it left to keep trying to hunt down something to eat.

And with this photo of the stand with me inside I say goodbye to all of you until the next blog.
