Esta semana os muestro algunas de las aves que vimos en un viaje reciente a La Mancha Húmeda. Los objetivos principales de la visita era poder contemplar a los bigotudos (Panurus biarmicus) y a los porrones pardos (Aythya nyroca).

This week I show you some of the birds that we saw on a recent trip to Wetlands of La Mancha. The main objectives of the visit were to be able to watch Bearded Tits  and Ferruginous Ducks.

El tiempo fue bueno pero por la mañana hubo mucha niebla y muy poca luz lo que hace más difícil la toma de fotografías.

Weather was good but in the morning there was a lot of fog and very few light which made taking photographs much more difficult.

Había bastantes grullas comunes (Grus grus).

Common Cranes were abundant..

Bonitas aves.

Beautiful Birds.

Una pareja de ánades azulones (Anas platyrhynchos).

A pair of Mallards.

Abubilla común (Upupa epops).

Eurasian Hoopoe.

Pájaro moscón (Remiz pendulinus).

Penduline Tit.

Tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola) hembra.

Female of Common Stonechat.

Sin duda alguna y a pesar de la poca luz disfrutamos mucho contemplando a los bigotudos (Panurus biarmicus). Vimos muchos aunque no les gusta mostrarse fuera de los carrizos.

Undoubtedly and despite the low light we enjoyed a lot watching Bearded Reedlings. We saw many although they do not like showing off from reeds.

El dimorfismo sexual es notorio.

Sexual dimorphism is notorious.

Hembra.

Female.

Macho.

Male.

Me encantan estas pequeñas aves.

I love these little birds.

Cernícalo vulgar (Falco tinnunculus) macho.

Male of Common Kestrel.

Mochuelo europeo (Athene noctua).

Little Owl.

Lavandera blanca (Motacilla alba).

White Wagtail.

Alcaudón real meridional (Lanius meridionalis).

Southern Grey Shrike.

Gorrión moruno (Passer hispaniolensis) macho.

Male of Spanish Sparrow.

Ánsares comunes (Anser anser).

Greylag Geese.

Aguilucho lagunero occidental (Circus aeruginosus).

Eurasian Marsh Harrier.

Cerceta común (Anas crecca).

Common Teal.

Y el otro objetivo del viaje el porrón pardo (Aythya nyroca). En la foto un macho.

And the other target of the trip the Ferruginous Duck. In the photo a male.

Y la menos colorida hembra.

And the less colorful female.

Mosquitero común (Phylloscopus collybita).

Common Chiffchaff.

Zampullín común (Tachybaptus ruficollis).

Little Grebe.

También había algunos ánades rabudos (Anas acuta).

There were also some Pintails.

Y muchas malvasías cabeciblancas (Oxyura leucocephala).

And many White-headed Ducks.

Algunos machos de cuchara común (Anas clypeata) estaban espectaculares.

Some Northern Shoveler males were spectacular.

Y otros no habían completado aun la muda a plumaje nupcial.

And others had not yet completed the moult to breeding plumage.

Hembra.

Female.

Gallineta común (Gallinula chloropus).

Moorhen.

Había muchas gaviotas reidoras (Chroicocephalus ridibundus).

There were many Black-headed Gulls.

Al igual que gaviotas sombrías (Larus fuscus).

As well as Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

Calamón común (Porphyrio porphyrio).

Purple Swamp-hen.

Focha común (Fulica atra).

Common Coot.

Malvasía cabeciblanca (Oxyura leucocephala) macho.

Male of White-headed Duck.

Hembra.

Female.

Macho de ánade friso (Anas strepera).

Male of Gadwall.

Y un único porrón moñudo (Aythya fuligula).

And a single Tufted Duck.

Porrón europeo (Aythya ferina) macho.

Male of Common Pochard.

Hembra.

Female.

Me extrañó ver que aun quedaban bastantes fumareles cariblancos (Chlidonias hybrida). Por lo menos había 12 ejemplares.

I was surprised to see that there were still quite a few Whiskered Terns. At least there were 12 specimens.

Flamencos comunes (Phoenicopterus ruber).

Greater Flamingos.

Tarro blanco (Tadorna tadorna).

Common Shelduck.

Zampullín cuellinegro (Podiceps nigricollis).

Black-necked Grebe.

Un buen bando de ánsares comunes (Anser anser).

A abundant flock of Greylag Geese.

Y con las luces del atardecer dimos por finalizada la jornada y regresamos a Madrid. En la foto un mochuelo europeo (Athene noctua).

And with the sunset lights we finished the day and returned to Madrid. In the photo a Little Owl.
