En esta entrado os muestro algunas de las aves vistas en dos parajes de singular belleza que son las Hoces del río Duratón y las del Riaza.

In this post I show you some of the Birds seen in two places of singular beauty which are the Gorges of Duratón and Riaza rivers.

El objetivo del viaje era poder contemplar las distintas especies de alondras, con especial interés en la escasa y esquiva alondra ricotí (Chersophilus duponti), y las collalbas rubias (Oenanthe hispanica).

The purpose of the trip was to observe the different species of Larks, with special interest in the rare and elusive Dupont's Lark and the Black-eared Wheatear.

El día fue muy bueno y el sol lució durante toda la jornada.

The day was very good and the sun shone all day.

Pido disculpas por la calidad de las fotografías pero en estas dos zonas hay mucha reverberación dificultando mucho la toma de buenas instantáneas.

I apologize for the quality of the photographs but in these two areas there is a lot of reverberation making very difficult to take good snapshots.

Había muchos alcaudones comunes (Lanius senator).

There were many Woodchat Shrikes.

Corneja negra (Corvus corone).

Carrion Crow.

Gorriones chillones (Petronia petronia).

Rock Sparrows.

También vimos bastantes bisbitas campestres (Anthus campestris).

We also saw many Tawny Pipit.

Y como era de esperar las collalbas rubias (Oenanthe hispanica) ya habían llegado. En la foto un macho.

And as expected Black-eared Wheatear had already arrived. In the photo a male.

Más confiadas estaban las hembras de esta especie.

Females of this specie were more confident.

Y al poco rato de llegar el hermoso trino de la deseada alondra ricotí (Chersophilus duponti) entró a raudales por la ventana. Estaba tan cerca que las fotos que tome no las pude enfocar bien pues mis latidos se aceleraron. La de la foto fue la segunda que vimos y oímos.

And very soon after our arrival the beautiful trine of the desired Dupont's Lark streaming through the window. He was so close that the photos I take were no focused as my heartbeat increased a lot. The one in the photo was the second that we saw and heard.

Y esta fue la tercera que pudimos ver aunque oímos algunas más.

And this was the third we could see although we hear some more.

De las ocho especies de Alondras que se pueden ver en la Península Ibérica vimos siete pues en esta zona no hay terreras marismeñas (Calandrella rufescens). En la foto una Calandria (Melanocorypha calandra).

Of the eight species of Larks that can be seen in the Iberian Peninsula we saw seven because in this area there is no Lesser Short-toed Lark. In the picture a Calandra Lark.

Sin embargo estas zonas son más conocidas por sus colonias de buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus) y otras aves rupícolas.

However these areas are better known for their colonies of Griffon Vultures and other cliff-nesting Birds.

Milano negro (Milvus migrans).

Black Kite.

Escribano montesino (Emberiza cia).

Rock Bunting.

Había menos collalbas grises (Oenanthe oenanthe) que otras veces.

There were fewer Northern wheatears than other times.

Águila calzada (Aquila pennata) fase clara.

Booted Eagle white phase.

Terrera común (Calandrella brachydactyla).

Short-toed Lark.

En la parte superior una culebrera europea (Circaetus gallicus), en medio un alcotán europeo (Falco subbuteo) y abajo un busardo ratonero (Buteo buteo).

On top a Short-toed Eagle, in the middle a Hobby and bellow a Common Buzzard.
