In the following link you can see our next national and foreign Birds and Mammals photographic and observation trips. I hope you like them and I encourage you to come with me. An experience that you will not forget.

On this occasion I show you the great day we had in the Cabañeros National Park on our scheduled excursion on Saturday, September 26.

Before I went, I imagined that we were going to have a very good day of photography as the weather forecasts predicted maximum of 24º Celsius and clear skies. At the end, the day gave much more of itself than I expected because we were also able to see a copulation that I had not seen yet.

The only thing we miss was to see a fight but the rutting was spectacular.

As the private visit to the National Park was at 5:30 pm. we first visited several areas of this beautiful Park in search of Birds and we could already see and hear the first deer. In the photo a beautiful male of Blue Rock Thrush.

Busardo ratonero (Buteo buteo).
Common Buzzard.

We also saw fleetingly Eurasian Sparrowhawk. In the photo a female.

Buitre negro (Aegypius monachus).
Black Vulture.

Buitre leonado (Gyps fulvus).
Griffon Vulture.

We did not see any adult Spanish Imperial Eagle but two young ones.

Impresionante.
Awesome.

A Booted Eagle pale morpho in migration.

After lunch, we took a walk and at 5:30 a.m. we got on the jeep of Visit Cabañeros, which is the company that carries out the tours of the Park. In this case it is a private trip especially for taking photographs. Only a maximum of 6 people can go in it.

As it is not hot, there was no refraction which makes the photos sharper.

Un bareto con sus primeros cuernos.
A Stag with its first antlers.

This year it was noticeable that Deer had had food during the summer as they were fat.

Thanks to the low temperatures, we were immediately able to hear, see and photograph the first roaring.

Un cervatillo.
A fawn.

And in this other photo with his mother.

The number of deer that live in the Park is impressive.

It always strikes me how suspicious they are because, despite seeing the jeeps several times every day, they flee as soon as you approach to them.

A very big and strong Stag with a good group of hinds.

Y pudimos ver como copulaba varias veces. Que suerte poder observarlo y fotografiarlo.
And we could see how he copulated several times. How lucky to be able to observe and photograph it.

Un buen macho para ser padre.
A good Stag to be a father.

As you can see, the rut was in full swing. The roaring are hard to forget.

Vimos algunos machos con unos cuernos impresionantes.
We saw some Stags with awesome antlers.

Que orgullosos van.
How proud they are.

As I said before, it was clear that they had not been hungry this summer.

Una auténtica maravilla.
A true wonder.

This Red Fox had a beautiful winter coat.

This Stag had broken one of his antler in a fight.

Los contraluces eran espectaculares.
Backlights were awesome.

And now with almost no light enough to take good photos, this Stag gave us a good recital. It is a pity that the lower part of the antler was not bigger.

Any way it was lovely to have him so close and with that excitement.
