Esta semana os muestro lo que pude fotografiar en un viaje al Valle de Arán. En lugar de esquiar me dedique a dar dos buenos paseos por la zona que me apetecía más.

This week I show you what I could photograph on a trip to the Aran Valley. Instead of skiing, I preferred to take two walks.

Me apetecía mucho ver si podía fotografiar un ave que en madrid solo viene en invierno y es bastante escasa y que se llama reyezuelo sencillo (Regulus regulus). Ya tenía fotos de esta pequeñísima ave, la más pequeña de Europa, pero siempre se puede mejorar lo que uno tiene. La suerte me sonrió y lo logré, mejore las que ya tenía. 

I really wanted to see if I could photograph a Bird that only comes in winter to Madrid and is quite scarce and is called Goldcrest. I already had pictures of this tiny bird, the smallest in Europe, but you can always improve what you have. I was lucky and I succeeded, I improve the ones I already had.

En uno de los pueblos que visité, había una pareja de mirlos acuáticos europeos (Cinclus cinclus) que estaba muy ocupada haciendo un nido debajo de uno de los puentes que cruzaba el río Garona a su paso por esta localidad.

In one of the villages I visited, there was a pair of White-throated Dipper that was very busy making a nest under one of the bridges that crossed the Garonne River as it passed through this town.

Nadie se daba cuenta de su presencia y la gente me miraba como diciendo, ¿qué hará ese tipo ahí con la cámara de fotos?. Lo único que me dijeron, como en muchas otras ocasiones, que con ese equipo ya se pueden hacer buenas fotos, ¿no? La gente piensa que con un buen equipo se hacen buenas fotos pero las fotos de aves requieren más que un buen equipo. 

Nobody was aware of them and people looked at me like saying, what will that guy do there with the camera? The only thing they told me, as on many other occasions, that with that photographic equipment you can already take good pictures, right? People think that good photos are taken with a good team but Bird photos require more than a good camera and len.

Estuve más de una hora contemplándolos a placer.

I spent more than an hour watching them.

Estas son las fotos que pude sacar al pequeño e inquieto reyezuelo sencillo (Regulus regulus).

These are the photos that I could take to the small and restless Goldcrest.

Son preciosos.

They are very pretty.

Continué con mi paseo y me encontré con otro pequeñín, el chochín común (Troglodytes troglodytes). En este caso primero lo pude oir y luego ver y fotografiar. Parece mentira lo fuerte que esta pequeña ave canta.

I continued with my walk and met another little one, the Winter Wren. In this case I could first hear it and then see and photograph. It seems incredible how loud this little Bird sings.

Y esto fue todo lo que pude fotografiar en el primer paseo.

And this was all I could photograph on the first walk.

El segundo día el paseo fue a más altura y entre la nieve.

The second day the walk was higher altitude and in the snow.

Había muchos verderones serranos (Serinus citrinella) pero solo este macho quiso ser fotografiado.

There were many Citril Finches but only this male wanted to be photographed.

Los piquituertos comunes (Loxia curvirostra) estaban muy cantarines. Solo vi un par de hembras y muchos machos com el de la foto.

Common Crossbill were very singing. I only saw two females and many males like the one in the photo.

Estaban preciosos.

They were very beautiful.

Por allí andaban tres quebrantahuesos (Gypaetus barbatus) pero muy lejanos. Dos inmaduros y un adulto.

There were three bonebreakers there but far away. Two immature and one adult.

Este fue el adulto.

This one was the adult.

Lavandera blanca (Motacilla alba).

White Wagtail.

También disfruté viendo una pareja de águilas reales (Aquila chrysaetos).

I also enjoyed watching a pair of Golden Eagles.

También había muchos zorzales charlos (Turdus viscivorus).

There were many Mistle Thrush.

Ya casi al final del paseo encontré muchos jilgueros lúganos (Spinus spinus). En la foto un macho.

Almost at the end of the walk I found many Eurasian Siskin. In the photo a male.

Y más piquituertos comunes (Loxia curvirostra) machos. En esta foto se ve muy bién el cruzado de la parte final del pico.

And more Common Crossbill males. In this photo the you can see very well its crossbill.
