En esta ocasión os muestro algunas fotos que tomé en un viaje de reconocimiento de zona que realicé al Parque Nacional de los Everglades y los Cayos en Florida USA.

This time I show you some pictures I took on a reconnaissance trip that I made to the Everglades National Park and the Ceys in Florida USA.

Me quedé maravillado con las especies de animales que se pueden ver en esta zona de Florida y también de su belleza.

I was amazed with the species of animals that can be seen in this area of Florida and also its beauty.

Pronto organizaré un viaje a esta zona para aquellos de vosotros que queráis venir con nosotros a conocerla y fotografiar su variada fauna y flora.

Soon I will organize a trip to this area for those of you who want to come with us to watchand photograph it varied fauna and flora.

De todas las especies que vi la me más me gustó fue la espátula rosada (Platalea ajaja) que aunque ya la había visto en zoológicos nunca la había visto en libertad. Son espectaculares.

Of all the species that I saw the most I liked was the Roseate Spoonbill that although I had seen it in zoos I had never seen it in the wild. They are awesome.

Pero dejadme que os enseñe otras especies que tuve la suerte de fotografiar.

But let me show you other species that I had the good fortune to photograph.

Vi algunas especies invasoras. Entre ellas los psitacidos eran los que más abundaban después, claro está, de los estorninos pintos (Sturnus vulgaris). En la foto aratinga cabeciazul (Aratinga acuticaudata).

I saw some invasive species. Among them the psittacidae were those that more abounded, later clear of the Common Starlings. In the photo Blue-crowned Parakeet.

En este caso el bando es de aratinga mitrada (Psittacara mitratus).

In this photo the flock is of Mitred Parakeet.

Y en esta foto iban mezcladas las dos especies anteriores. El bando era bastante mayor pero solo pude sacar esta sección de él.

And in this picture the two previous species were mixed. The flock was biger but I could only get this section of it.

Y en esta otra tres guacamayos noble (Diopsittaca nobilis).

And in this other one three Red-shouldered Macaws.

Me llamó la atención este lagarto de cola rizada del norteña (Leiocephalus carinatus).

It caught my eye this Northern Curly-tailed Lizard.

Esta culebra me dio un buen susto pues desconozco si es venenosa o no.

This snake gave me a scared me because I did not know if it is poisonous or not.

Martinete Coronado (Nyctanassa violacea).

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron.

Zanate Marismeño (Quiscalus major) macho.

Male of Boat-tailed Grackle.

Hembra.

Vi muchos esmerejones (Falco columbarius).
I saw many Merlin.

El manatí de Florida (Trichechus manatus latirostris) es el mayor de todos los sirénidos.

The Florida Manatee is the largest of all the sirenids.

Pradero Oriental (Sturnella magna).

Como era de esperar había muchas libélulas.

As expected there were many dragonflies.

Y también galápagos. En la foto un galápago de orejas amarillas (Trachemys scripta).

As well as tortoises. In the photo a Yellow-bellied Slider.

Un bonito y grande saltamontes del pantano (Romalea guttata).

A beautiful and large Eastern Lubber Grasshopper.

Hay más de cincuenta subespecies de caracoles de árbol (Liguus fasciatus) que se distinguen por su color.

There are more than fifty subspecies of Tree Snails that are distinguished by their color.

Garza azulada (Ardea herodias).

Great Blue Heron.

Que grandes son.

How big they are.

Busardo de hombro rojo (Buteo lineatus).

Red-shouldered Hawk.

Que bonitos son.

How beautiful they are.

Reinita del Pinar (Setophaga pinus).

Pine Warbler.

También había muchas bromeliáceas.

There were also many Bromeliads.

A esta mascarita común (Geothlypis trichas) macho no le pude hacer una foto decente.

I could not make a decent picture of this male of Common Yelowthroat.

Pero con esta hembra se dio mejor.

But  it was better with this female.

Garcita verde (Butorides virescens).
Gree Heron.

Las que tienen el pico amarillo son garcillas bueyeras (Bubulcus ibis).

Those with the yellow beak are Cattle Egrets.

Morito común (Plegadis falcinellus).

Glossy Ibis.

La maravillosa espátula rosada (Platalea ajaja).

The beautiful  Roseate Spoonbill.

Solo vi un pigargo americano (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) y fue este inmaduro pero que pasada de ave.

I only saw a Bald Eagle and it was this immature. Awesome Bird.

Tórtola turca (Streptopelia decaocto). En USA esta especie está considerada como ave exótica no introducida de manera voluntaria.

Eurasian Collared Dove. In USA this species is considered as an exotic bird not introduced voluntarily.

Zopilote negro (Coragyps atratus).

Black Vuture.

Había muchas garcetas grandes (Egretta alba).

There were many Western Great Egret.

Garza azul (Egretta caerulea)
Little Blue Heron.

El ejemplar de la derecha es un joven de esta especie.

The Bird on the right is a juvenile of this species.

En la derecha una Garza azul (Egretta caerulea) y en la izquierda Garceta tricolor (Egretta tricolor).

On the right a Little Blue Heron and on the left a Tricolored Heron.

Otra de las aves que me gustó mucho poder contemplar fue a este avetoro lentiginoso (Botaurus lentiginosus).

Another Bird that I really liked to watch was this American Bittern.

Tuve mucha suerte.

I was very lucky.

Alcaudón americano (Lanius ludovicianus).

Loggerhead Shrike.

Cormorán orejudo (Phalacrocorax auritus).

Double-crested Cormorant.

Vi bastantes patos criollos domésticos (Cairina moschata domestica). En la foto un macho.

I saw many feral Muscovy Ducks. In the photo a male.

Ganso del Nilo (Alopochen aegyptiaca). En USA esta especie está considerada como ave exótica no introducida de manera voluntaria.

Fragata magnífica (Fregata magnificens) macho. No vi ninguna hembra.
Magnificent Frigatebird male. I did not see any female.

Estas lagartijas llamaron mi atención.

These lizards caught my eye.

Ardilla gris oriental (Sciurus carolinensis).

Eastern Gray Squirrel.

Una enorme iguana rayada (Ctenosaura similis).

Un precioso vireo ojiblanco (Vireo griseus).

También había muchas mariposas pero son muy difíciles de fotografiar.

There were also many butterflies but they are very difficult to photograph.

Mimido gris (Dumetella carolinensis).

Vireo chiví (Vireo olivaceus).

Un precioso macho de reinita azulada (Setophaga caerulescens).

A beautiful male of Black-throated Blue Warbler.

Esta es la segunda especie en orden de preferencia de las que podía ver en Florida, el cardenal norteño (Cardinalis cardinalis). Los machos son impresionantes.

This is the second species for me in order of preference that could be seen in Florida, the Northern Cardinal. Males are awesome.

Vi muchos pues su reclamo es muy característico lo que siempre facilita el avistamiento.

I saw many because their calls are very characteristic which always facilitates the sighting.

Mucho menos coloridas son las hembras pero a pesar de ello no dejan de ser hermosas.

Far less colorful are females but in spite of that they are still very beautiful.

Otra belleza el carpintero carolina (Melanerpes carolinus). En la foto un macho.

Another beauty the Red-bellied Woodpecker. In the photo a male.

El dibujo dorsal es precioso.

The barred back is beautiful.

Maco en la parte superior y la hembra en la inferior.

Y como no podía ser de otra manera, vi muchos caimanes del Misisipi (Alligator mississippiensis).

And how could not be otherwise, I saw many American Alligators.

Algunos muy grandes.

Otra de las especies que tenía muchas ganas de observar era la anhinga americana (Anhinga anhinga).

Another species that I really wanted to watch was the Anhinga.

Que mansas estaban.

How tame they were.

Macho.

Male.

Al igual que los patos mudan todas las plumas de las alas a la vez lo que las impide volar durante casi un mes.

Just as Ducks they molt all the wing feathers at the same time what prevents them from flying for almost a month.

Tricolored Heron.

Ibis blanco americano (Eudocimus albus).

White Ibis.

Joven de la especie anterior.

Tienen un precioso iris azul poco corriente entre las aves.

They have a beautiful blue iris unusual among Birds.

House Sparrow female.This species has been introduced in the USA.

Cuervo pescador (Corvus ossifragus).

Vi muchas reinita palmera (Setophaga palmarum).

I saw many Palm Warbler.

Y también había muchas iguanas verdes (Iguana iguana).

And there were also many Green Iguanas.

Es una especie invasora en USA.

It is an invasive species in the USA.

Algunas eran tremendas.

Some of them were huge.

Un panal.

A Honeycomb.

Vi muchas y confiadas águilas pescadoras (Pandion haliaetus).
I saw many and tames Ospreys.

Es impresionante ver la fortaleza de sus garras cuando las tienes tan cerca.

It is awesome to see the strength of its claws when you have them so close.
