Hola una vez más.
Hello again.

This time I show you a trip we mede to photograph the White-throated Dipper. Despite being quite elusive Birds we were lucky and we could photograph it very well.

To achieve this goal I chose the Guadarrama National Park as you can watch them quite easy.

First of all let me introduce you to this beautiful Bird. I have always been struck by the ability they have to dive and move around the bottom of the rivers although there is fast flow in search of invertebrates and small fish.

As until noon there is no good light (until that time the river is in shadow) at this time of year we took a walk around to see other species of Birds.

Hembra de pinzón vulgar (Fringilla coelebs).
Female of Common Chaffinch.

Corneja negra (Corvus corone).
Carrion Crow.

Escribano montesino (Emberiza cia).
Rock Bunting.

Carbonero común (Parus major).
Great Tit.

Herrerillo capuchino (Lophophanes cristatus).
Crested Tit.

It was difficult to find the beautiful Citril Finch.

It was a pity that none of them was in good light.

This Bird is another of the gems that we can see at the Sierra del Guadarrama National Park.

The Whitebeam were espectacular with their fruits.

As well as the Rowan.

Y este manzano (Malus domestica).
And this Apple Tree.

Carbonero garrapinos (Periparus ater).
Coal Tit.

Buitre negro (Aegypius monachus).
Black Vulture.

Ya había bastantes falso azafrán (Crocus serotinus).
There was already Late crocus.

Trepador azul (Sitta europaea).
European Nuthatch.

Una bonita mariposa C-blanca (Polygonia c-album).
A beautiful Comma Butterfly.

And as it was planned at noon we started to watch the White-throated Dipper.

Una buena captura.
A good catch.

Vimos al menos 5 ejemplares distintos.
We saw at least 5 different specimens.

Lavandera cascadeña (Motacilla cinerea).
Grey Wagtail.

And a few more of this beautiful species.

As we had taken enough photos and there was still time we decided to go to see if we could watch two species of Ducks that are not European that someone had told me that they were in Avila.

In the area there were many Mallards. In the photo a male.

Hembra.
Female.

These are the two Ducks we wanted to see and photograph. The closest one is a Wood Duck male and the one in the background a Mandarin Duck also male.

These two beautiful species must be escaped Birds of collections because being so pretty they are very common among fans to keep Birds in captivity.

The Wood Duck is a Bird native to North America and Canada. They have a length of 45 to 50 cm. Males are very pretty, it is enough to see this specimen, and they like to breed in hollows of the trees.

The Mandarin Duck comes from East Asia. It has a length of 41-49 cm and as in the other species there is a pronounced sexual dimorphism, with males being one of the most beautiful Ducks in the World. There is a feral population of many individuals in England and to a lesser extent in some Central European countries. These populations come from releases and escapes occurred in the twentieth century as it was very common among collectors for its beauty. They also likes to lay their eggs in tree holes.

I leave some photos of these two beauties. I feel sorry that the photos are not better but there was almost no light and this is what I was able to obtain at very low speeds and very high ISO.

And when we were returning to Madrid we could not resist to take some pictures of the Full Moon that was tremendous.

Hasta pronto.
See you soon.
