En esta entrada os muestro lo que pude fotografiar en el viaje programado el 20 de mayo a la Sierra de Gredos.

In this post I show you what I was able to photograph on the scheduled trip on May 20 to the Sierra de Gredos.

El tiempo no fue muy bueno e incluso nos cayeron unas gotas, pero la excursión mereció la pena.
The weather was not very good and we even got a few drops but the excursion was worth it.

Antes de llegar a nuestro destino hicimos una parada para ver una pareja de águila imperial ibérica (Aquila adalberti).

Before reaching our destination we made a stop to see a pair of Spanish Imperial Eagle.

El primer ave que fotografié a en la sierra de Gredos fue a este macho de cernícalo vulgar (Falco tinnunculus).

The first Bird I photographed in the Sierra de Gredos was this male Common Kestrel.

Enseguida pudimos ver algunas collalbas grises (Oenanthe oenanthe). En la foto un macho.

Right away we could see some Northern Wheatear. In the photo a male.

Una hembra.

A female.

Las cabras monteses (Capra pyrenaica) aun no habían parido. Iban con las crías de la primavera pasada.

The Spanish Ibex had not yet calved. They were with the young from last spring.

Aunque no les debía faltar mucho a juzgar por el abultado vientre de esta hembra.

Although they shouldn't be long judging by the bulging belly of this female.

Vimos muchos acentores comunes (Prunella modularis).

We saw many Dunnock.

Daba gusto oír como cantaban las alondras comunes (Alauda arvensis).

It was nice to hear how Eurasian Skylark sang.

Vimos una pareja de chova piquirroja (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax).

We saw a pair of Red-billed Choughs.

Y algunos cuervos grandes (Corvus corax).

And some Common Raven.

Esta lagartija carpetana (Iberolacerta cyreni)  estaba muy bonita y estuvimos un buen rato observándola.

This Iberian Rock Lizard was very pretty and we spent a good while watching it.

Desde mi punto de vista, la estrella de la Sierra de Gredos es el ruiseñor pechiazul (Luscinia svecica).

From my point of view, the star of the Sierra de Gredos is the Bluethroat.

En este viaje los tuvimos realmente cerca. Incluso en una ocasión no pude sacarles fotos pues lo tenia demasiado cerca, a menos de 3,5 metros de mi, que es la distancia mínima para que mi teleobjetivo enfoque.

On this trip we were really close to them. On one occasion I couldn't even take pictures of them because I had it too close, less than 3.5 meters from me, which is the minimum distance for my lens to focus.

Preciosa ave.

Beautiful Bird.

Esta fue la única hembra que vimos.

This was the only female we saw.

Aunque había bastante colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochruros) ninguno quiso posar de cerca para mi cámara. En la foto un macho.

Although there were quite a few Black Redstarts  none wanted to pose up close for my camera. In the photo a male.

Por la tarde vimos un grupo de machos de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica) en el que había varios machos adultos y con una buena cornamenta.

In the afternoon we saw a group of Spanish Ibex in which there were several adult males with very large horns.

Y otros no tan grandes.

And others not so big.

Había las tres especies de lavanderas que podemos ver en verano en la España peninsular. En este caso se trata de una lavandera cascadeña (Motacilla cinerea).

There were the three species of Wagtails that we can see in summer in mainland Spain. In this case it is a Grey Wagtail.

Esta otra es la lavandera boyera (Motacilla flava).

This other one is the Yellow Wagtail.

También vimos algunos ejemplares de bisbita alpino (Anthus spinoletta).

We also saw some specimens of Water Pipit.

Un macho de tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).

A Common Stonechat male.

Pocas veces se ve a los pinzones vulgares (Fringilla coelebs) en lugares desarbolados. En la foto un macho.

Common finches (Fringilla coelebs) are rarely seen in treeless areas. In the photo a male.

Estuvimos un buen rato viendo como un mirlo acuático europeo (Cinclus cinclus) cebaba a un pollo volantón recién salido del nido. En la foto el joven.

We spent a long time watching a White-throated Dipper feeding a fledgling just. In the photo the juvenile.

Y en esta otra el joven en la derecha y uno de los padres a la izquierda.

And in this other one, the juvenile on the right and one of its parents on the left.

En esta excursión vimos menos escribano montesino (Emberiza cia) que en otros años.

On this trip we saw lRock Bunting  than in other years.

Y para finalizar este blog os enseño algunas fotos que pude tomar a uno de los escribanos que solo nos visitan en época de reproducción, el escribano hortelano (Emberiza hortulana).

And to finish this blog I show you some photos that I was able to take of one of the Buntings that only visit us during its breeding season, the Ortolan Bunting.

They are very beautiful.

En estas dos últimas fotos se trata de dos hembras. Las fotos anteriores eran todos machos.

In these last two photos there are two females. The previous photos were all males.
