En esta entrada os muestro lo que pude fotografiar en el viaje programado el 6 de mayo al Cerro de San Pedro y el Puerto de la Morcuera en la comunidad de Madrid.

In this post I show you what I was able to photograph on the scheduled trip on May 6 to Cerro de San Pedro and Puerto de la Morcuera in the community of Madrid.

El tiempo fue muy bueno aunque algo caluroso para esta época del año.
The weather was very good, although a bit hot for this time of year.

Fue una pena ver lo seco que estaba el campo en los dos sitios que visitamos. En el Cerro de San pedro hay muchísimas flores en años más húmedos. Este año había muchos menos insectos y flores que en otros años. 

It was a shame to see how dry the countryside was at the two places we visited. In the Cerro de San Pedro there are many flowers in more humid years. This year there were much fewer insects and flowers than in other years.

Antes de comenzar el ascenso hasta la cima del cerro de San Pedro ya pudimos contemplar a un críalo europeo (Clamator glandarius). 

Before beginning the ascent to the top of the San Pedro hill, we were already able to see a Great Spotted Cuckoo.

También vimos a lo largo de la mañana varias parejas de alcaudón común (Lanius senator).

We also saw several pairs of Woodchat Shrike throughout the morning.

Por allí andaba un alcaudón real (Lanius meridionalis).

There was a Iberian Grey Shrike around.

Solo vimos a este gorrión chillón (Petronia petronia). Y, por cierto, solo fugazmente.

We only saw this Rock Sparrow. And, by the way, only fleetingly.

Sin embargo, vimos varias tarabillas europeas (Saxicola rubicola). Solo fotografié a los machos.

However, we did see several Common Stonechat. I only photographed males.

Otra de las aves bastante abundante en esta zona son las cogujadas montesinas (Galerida theklae).

Another of the quite abundant birds in this area are theThekla Lark.

Los tres vídeos que he subido fueron tomados por uno de los clientes que vinieron a la excursión y que amablemente me ha permitido enseñároslos.

The three videos that I have uploaded were taken by one of the clients who came to the excursion and who has kindly allowed me to show them to you.

A pesar de la sequía pudimos ver algunos insectos y mariposas. En esta foto se trata de un bonito duende (Nemoptera bipennis). 

Despite the drought we were able to see some Insects and Butterflies. In this photo it is a pretty Two-winged Spoonwing.

Pude fotografiar algunas mariposas. En la foto una bandera española (Anthocharis belia).

I was able to photograph some butterflies. In the photo a Moroccan Orange Tip.

Una manto bicolor (Lycaena phlaeas).

A Small Copper.

Doncella de la centaurea (Melitaea phoebe). Toda una belleza.

Knapweed Fritillary. A beauty.

Una medioluto montañera (Melanargia russiae). Otra preciosidad.

An Esper's Marbled White. Another beauty.

Esta polilla es una Athroolopha pennigeraria.

Ths moth is a Athroolopha pennigeraria.

Y por último esta pandora  (Argynnis pandora).

And lastly this Cardinal Butterfly.

Si no llega a ser por la mariposa anterior, no vemos a esta salamanquesa común (Tarentola mauritanica) pues estaba tomando al sol muy cerca de ella y era difícil localizarla.

Thanks to the previous butterfly, we saw this Crocodile Gecko because it was basking in the sun very close to it and it was difficult to locate it.

Este cuco común (Cuculus canorus) no paraba de cantar y en uno de sus vuelos se posó bastante cerca de donde estábamos.

This Common Cuckoo did not stop singing and in one of its flights it landed quite close to where we were.

No muy lejos suyo estaba buscando insectos este críalo europeo (Clamator glandarius).

Not far from him, this Great Spotted Cuckoo was searching for insects.

Vimos un bando de rabilargos ibéricos (Cyanopica kooki).

We saw a flock of Iberian Magpie.

Una cigüeña blanca (Ciconia ciconia) que supuse que iba al cercano vertedero de Colmenar Viejo.

A white stork (Ciconia ciconia) that I assumed was going to the nearby Colmenar Viejo dump.

Había varios escribanos trigueros (Emberiza calandra).

There were several Corn Buntings.

También pasaron varios buitres negros (Aegypius monachus).

Several Cinereous Vultures also passed by.

Un bonito macho de collalba rubia (Oenanthe hispanica) estaba cantando por los riscos.

A pretty male Black-eared Wheatear was singing by the cliffs.

Vimos varios milanos reales (Milvus milvus).

We saw several Red Kites.

Y varios buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus).

And several Griffon Vultures.

Un macho de curruca carrasqueña (Sylvia cantillans).

A Subalpine Warbler male.

Y como colofón de la visita al Cerro de San Pedro, pasó volando esta impresionante águila imperial ibérica (Aquila adalberti).

And to round off the visit to Cerro de San Pedro, this awesome Spanish Imperial Eagle flew by.

Después del almuerzo y esperar un rato a que bajasen las temperaturas, llegamos al Puerto de La Morcuera. Los piornos serranos (Cytisus oromediterraneus)  estaban en flor como si fuese el mes de junio y no mayo. El olor era espectacular.

After lunch and waiting for a while for the temperatures to drop, we arrived at Puerto de La Morcuera. The Pyrenean Broom were in flower as if it were the month of June and not May. The smell was spectacular.

Solo vimos esta hembra de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica).

We only saw this female of Spanish Ibex.

Había bastantes escribanos hortelanos (Emberiza hortulana).

There were quite a few Ortolan Bunting.

Un águila calzada (Aquila pennata) morfo clara estaba de caza por la zona.

A pale morpho Booted Eagle was hunting in the area.

Si no llega a ser que se estaban moviendo, estos corzos (Capreolus capreolus) hubiesen pasado desapercibidos. Había une hembra y dos machos.

If they weren't moving, these Roe Deer would have gone unnoticed. There was a female and two males.

Este macho era el que tenía mejor cornamenta.

This male had the best antlers.

Como era de esperar, vimos bastantes acentores comunes (Prunella modularis).

As expected, we saw quite a few Dunnocks.

Solo vimos este macho de roquero rojo (Monticola saxatilis). Que pena que lo tuviésemos a contraluz pues no estaba muy lejos.

We only saw this male Rock Thrush (Monticola saxatilis). Too bad we had it backlit because it wasn't very far.

También esta fue el único bisbita campestre (Anthus campestris) que pudimos observar.

This was also the only Tawny Pipit that we could spot.

Un macho de tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).

Y para finalizar el relato, os dejo unas fotos de algunos escribano montesino (Emberiza cia) de los muchos que pudimos ver.
