Esta semana os muestro lo que pudimos ver este año sobre el celo de la Cabra Montés (Capra Pirenayca Victoriae). El primer viaje era privado y lo hicimos el 16 de noviembre. El segundo era el programado para quien quisiese apuntarse el 23 de noviembre. El último fue el 28 de noviembre y solamente por el placer de estar entre las cabras sin clientes y sin tener que atender a los clientes, más relajado.

This week I show you what we could see this year about the heat of the Spanish Ibex. The first trip was private and we did it on November 16. The second was the one scheduled for those who wanted to sign up on November 23. The last one was november 28 and only for the pleasure of being among Spanish Ibex without clients and without having to attend to customers, more relaxed.

Para poder fotografiar las cabras es necesario obtener el preceptivo permiso de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente de la Comunidad de Castilla León. Sin él no se puede fotografiar a estos animales.

To be able to photograph the Spanish Ibex it is necessary to obtain the mandatory permission of the Ministry of the Environment of the Community of Castilla León. Without it you can not photograph these animals.

Espero no aburriros mucho con tanta fotografía de las cabras monteses (Capra Pirenayca Victoriae) pero es que no sabía qué fotografías quitar después de una selección de más de 1000 fotografías que tomé.

I hope not to bore you much with so much photography of the Spanish Ibex but I did not know what photographs to remove  after a selection of more than 1000 photographs that I took.

Os voy a enseñar por días lo que pudimos observar.

I will show you for days what we could watch.

16 de noviembre:

November 16:

Fue el día más frío de todos pues cuando llegamos a la Plataforma había menos tres grados centígrados.

It was the coldest day of all because when we arrived at the Platform there were minus three degrees Celsius.

Gracias a Dios que no hizo viento y como hacía sol no pasamos frío.

Thanks God it was not windy and since it was sunny we had not cold.

Estuvimos un buen rato buscando a las cabras.

We were looking for the Ibex for a while.

Y al final encontramos un nutrido grupo no muy lejos del parking.

And in the end we found a large group not far from the parking lot.

Este macho era el más grande del grupo.

This male was the largest in the group.

Impresionante.

Awesome.

Este, aunque más pequeño, también era muy bonito.

This one, although smaller, was also very pretty.

Había muchas personas fotografiando a las cabras y como en muchas otras ocasiones acercándose en exceso a ellas. No se como no se dan cuenta que si te acercas demasiado se asustan y dejan de actuar de forma natural además de molestarlas. Incluso hubo personas con muy mala educación que se pusieron entre nosotros y las cabras cuando a un fotógrafo se le debe pasar siempre por la espalda y no entre los animales y los fotógrafos.

There were many people photographing the Spanish Ibex and as on many other occasions getting too close to them. I don't know how they don't realize that if you get too close they get scared and stop acting naturally in addition to disturbing them. There were even people with very bad education who put themselves between us and the goats when a photographer should always pass you on your rear and not between the animals and the photographers.

Esto no se debe hacer bajo ningún pretexto. No me extrañaría que al final exijan a la gente ir acompañada por un guía para que estas situaciones no se repitan. 

This should not be done under any pretext. I would not be surprised if in the end they require people to be accompanied by a guide so that these situations do not recur.

Al poco tiempo tuvimos suerte y pudimos ver una gran pelea entre cuatro machos. Se turnaban en los golpes.

Soon we were lucky and we could see a great fight between four males. They took turns hitting.

Estuvimos más de una hora viendo las peleas. Os dejo con las imágenes que valen más que mil palabras.

We were watching fights for over an hour. I leave you with the photographs that are better than words.

Todo un expectáculo poder haber contemplado escenas como estas.

Y para finalizar con este día este bonito macho se nos acercó a donde estábamos.

And to end this day this beautiful male approached where we were.

23 de noviembre:

November 23rd:

Este día la temperatura era un poco más alta pero el viento, la ventisca y la falta de sol hicieron que fuese un día mucho más desapacible.

This day the temperature was a little higher but the wind, the blizzard and the lack of sun made it a much more unpleasant day.

Además tardamos en encontrar las cabras bastante tiempo.

It also took us a long time to find the Spanish Ibex.

En este día no tuvimos tanta suerte como en anterior y no vimos ninguna pelea.

On this day we were not as lucky as we were before and we didn't see any fight.

Pero si vimos unos machos muy grandes.

But we did see very large males.

Y algunos saltos sobre el río. Los mejores saltos no los pude fotografiar pues me lie con los parámetros de la cámara de fotos y no los pude sacar.

And some jumps over the river. The best jumps I could not photograph because I had the parameters of the camera wrong and I could not photograph them.

Siempre me llama la atención la cara de tontos que se les pone a los machos en época de celo. También el color azulado de su lengua que sacan a menudo además de otras partes de su anatomía.

It always catches my attention the face of fools that are put to males in when they are on heat. Also the bluish color of their tongue that they often take out as well as other parts of their anatomy.

Además de comer hierba y matorrales, también les gusta alimentarse de líquenes.

In addition to eating herb and bush, they also like to feed on lichen.

Las madres aún siguen mimando a sus crías de este año.

Mothers still pamper their calf of this year.

Y para finalizar el día este águila real (Aquila chrysaetos) tuvo a bien deleitarnos con su presencia.

And at the end of the day this Golden Eagle was pleased to delight us with its presence.

28 de noviembre:

November 28:

Este día fue mucho más cálido que los precedentes pero al final hizo algo de viento y bajó la niebla.

This day was much warmer than the previous ones but in the end it had some wind and the fog went down.

Las cabra estaban más como otras veces y algunos rebaños eran muy grandes.

Spanish Ibes were more like other times and some herds were very large.

Fue el día de los saltos del río.

It was the day of the river jumps.

Me gusto encontrarme con mi vieja amiga que la llamamos cariñosamente blanquita.

I liked meeting my old friend who we affectionately called her White.

Este pobre macho se había roto la pata delantera izquierda y le había cicatrizado con un desplazamiento.

This poor male had broken his left front leg and healed it with a displacement.

No obstante, caminaba y saltaba con soltura.

However, he walked and jumped very well.

Otra tanda más de saltos.

Another jumps series.

Vimos muchos machos muy grandes.

We saw many very large males.

Había un rebaño muy grande, de más de 70 cabras entre machos y hembras.

There was a very large herd of more than 70 goats between males and females.

Pero no hubo peleas.

But there were no fights.

Cuando ves a las cabras por las rocas parece que llevan pegamento en las pezuñas.

When you see the Spanish Ibex on the rocks it seems that they have glue on their hooves.

Cualquier pequeña grieta es suficiente para no caerse o resbalar.

Any small crack is enough not to fall or slip.

Al caer  la tarde vimos otro grupo.

At dusk we saw another herb.

Solo quedaba nieve en las umbrías.

Only snow remained in the shady.

Entre ellas iban dos macho muy grandes.

Among them were two very large males.

Este era el menor de los dos.

This was the smaller of the two.

Y este, ya entre la niebla, el más grande.

And this, already in the fog, the biggest.
