Hola de nuevo.

Hi again.

Esta semana le tocó el turno a las lagunas Manchegas, Daimiel y Navaseca. Cada vez queme contratan para ver estas lagunas me alegro mucho pues me encantan y sobre todo en esta época del año donde los patos están a tope con su plumaje nupcial.

This week it was the turn to the Lagoons of La Mancha, Daimiel and Navaseca. Every time someone hires me to see these lagoons I get very happy because I love them and especially at this time of the year where Ducks are at their best in breeding plumage.

El tiempo estuvo bien pero demasiado ventoso para poder observar algunas de las especies que se ven en ellas. Me refiero sobre todo a los bigotudos (Panurus biarmicus) y a los escribanos palustres (Emberiza schoeniclus) que aunque los vimos, en el primer caso no tuve tiempo de fotografiarlos y en el segundo tan solo una fotografía muy mala.  

Weather was fine but too windy to be able to watch some of the species seen on them. I refer particularly to Bearded Tits and Reed Buntings that although we saw them in the first case I did not have time to photograph them and in the second only a very bad photograph.

Green Sandpiper.

Había bastantes bisbitas alpinos (Anthus spinoletta).
There were several Water Pipits.

De las muchas cigüeñas blancas (Ciconia ciconia) que vimos esta llamó mi atención pues tiene un radio transmisor.
Of the many White Storks we saw this caught my attention because it has a radio transmitter.

Ánade azulón (Anas platyrhynchos).
Mallard.

Este macho de cerceta común (Anas crecca) se llevo un buen susto cuando me vio pues salio de debajo del observatorio y yo una gran alegría pues no es fácil verles tan ceca.
This Common Teal male had a good fright when he saw me. He was coming out from undernith the observatory and I had a great joy because it is not easy to see them so close.

Macho de aguilucho lagunero occidental (Circus aeruginosus).
Male of Eurasian Marsh Harrier.

Que bonitos son.

Escribano palustre (Emberiza schoeniclus).
Reed Bunting.

Este año estoy viendo muchos chorlitos dorados europeos (Pluvialis apricaria).
This year I am seeing many European Golden Plovers.

Había muchas grullas comunes (Grus grus).
There were many Common Cranes.

Vimos bastantes calamones comunes (Porphyrio porphyrio).
We saw several Purple Swamp-hens.

Son espectaculares.
They are awesome.

Siempre lo digo pero es que me encanta ver como utilizan sus patas para ayudarse a comer los carrizos.
I always say but I love to see how they use their legs to eat reeds.

Había varios tarros blancos (Tadorna tadorna).
There were several Common Shelducks.

Un macho.
A male.

Un joven.
A juvenile.

Otro macho.
Another male.

Una pareja.
A pair.

Aguja colinegra (Limosa limosa).
Black-tailed Godwit.

Macho de porrón europeo (Aythya ferina).
Male of Common Pochard.

Hembra.
Female.

Facha común (Fulica atra).
Common Coot.

Gaviota reidora (Chroicocephalus ridibundus).
Black-headed Gull.

Algunas de ellas ya tenían el plumaje nupcial.
Some of them already had breeding plumage.

Gaviotas sombrías (Larus fuscus). La de la derecha es de la subespecie intermedius.
Lesser Black-backed Gulls. The one on the right is of the subspecies intermedius.

Jóvenes de flamenco común (Phoenicopterus ruber).
Juveniles of Greater Flamingos.

Hembra de tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).
Female of Common Stonechat.

Macho de cuchara común (Anas clypeata).
Male of Northern Shoveler.

Me encantan los colores que tiene este pato.
I love the colors that this Duck has.

Algunos zampullines comunes (Tachybaptus ruficollis) ya están con plumaje nupcial.
Some Little Grebes are already in breeding plumage.

Y otros no.
And others do not.

Joven de cigüeñuela común (Himantopus himantopus).
Juvenile of Black-winged Stilt.

Cormorán grande (Phalacrocorax carbo).
Great Cormorant.

Gallineta común (Gallinula chloropus).
Moorhen.

Había muchas malvasías cabeciblancas (Oxyura leucocephala). En la foto un macho.
There were many White-headed Ducks. In the photo a male.

Y esta una hembra.
And this is a female.
