Hi again.

Esta entrada trata sobre un viaje combinado de dos días. El primero nos dedicamos al Parque Nacional de Monfragüe en Extremadura y al día siguiente fuimos al Parque Regional Sierra de Gredos en Avila.

This post is about a two-day package tour. The first day was dedicated to Monfragüe National Park in Extremadura and the next day we went to the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park in Avila.

El tiempo fue excelente y disfrutamos de un sinfín de especies de aves de las que os muestro algunas fotos.

The weather was excellent and we enjoyed countless species of birds of which I show you some photos.

DIA PRIMERO: PARQUE NACIONAL DE MONFRAGÜE.

DAY ONE: MONFRAGÜE NATIONAL PARK.

La primera ave rapaz diurna que disfrutamos ya en el Parque fue este ejemplar de buitre negro (Aegypius monachus).

The first Diurnal Raptor already enjoyed in the Park was this specimen of Monk Vulture.

Un subadulto de alimoche común (Neophron percnopterus).

Roquero solitario macho (Monticola solitarius).

Blue Rock Thrush male.

Los pollos de buitre leonado (Gyps fulvus) estaban ya muy crecidos.

Chicks of Griffon Vulture were already well grown.

La primer cigüeña negra (Ciconia nigra) que observamos.

The first Black Stork we observed.

Y esta otra con sus dos pollos de este año.

And this other one with two chicks of this year.

Lo mismo que esta otra. Que gusto da ver a este ave tan esquiva acostumbrada a la gente y sin importarle nuestra presencia.

Just like this one. It gives pleasure to see this elusive bird been used to people and not paying attention  to our presence.

Avión común (Delichon urbica) construyendo su nido. También vimos en éste mismo sitio varios vencejos reales (Apus melba) pero demasiado rápidos para mi cámara de fotos.

Milano negro (Milvus migrans). Algunos de ellos se dedicaban a cazar a aviones comunes jóvenes e inexpertos aun en vuelo.

Black kite. Some of them were engaged in hunting young and inexperienced in flight House Martings.

Una cierva común (Cervus elaphus).

Buitre leonado (Gyps fulvus).

Griffon Vulture.

La pareja de búhos reales (Bubo bubo) instalada en este roquedo ha conseguido sacar dos pollos que este día no estaban visibles. Sin embargo uno de los padres se podía ver aunque era difícil localizarlo.

The pair of eagle owls (Bubo bubo) installed on this crag has managed to get two chicks but they were not visible this day. However one of the breeding pair could be seen though was difficult to locate.

Después de haber oído en repetidas ocasiones a la pareja de águilas imperiales ibéricas (Aquila adalberti) que tiene un nido muy cerca de este observatorio una de ellas nos sorprendió con su presencia durante bastante tiempo. Una pena que estuviese a contraluz. De todos modos el momento fue inolvidable pues nos rozó las cabezas.

After hearing repeatedly the pair of Spanish Imperial Eagle that has a nest very close to the observatory one of them surprised us with his presence for some time. Shame that it was backlit. Anyway the moment was unforgettable as it passed over our heads.

Y no muy lejos del observatorio una pareja de alimoches comunes (Neophron percnopterus) había instalado su nido.

And not far from the observatory a pair of Egyptian Vultures had set up its nest.

Tenían un pollo.

They had a chick.

Hicimos noche cerca de nuestro destino del día siguiente. Al llegar se podían ver algunos cernícalos primillas (Falco naumanni) como el macho de la foto.

We spent the night near our destination of the next day. Arriving we could see some Lesser Kestrels as the male of the picture.

Algunas oropéndolas europeas (Oriolus oriolus) venian a comer guindas.

Some Golden Orioles were coming to eat Sour Cherries.

A la mañana siguiente mientras esperaba a los clientes decidí sacar unas fotos de tan bello paisaje.

Next morning while waiting for customers I decided to take some pictures of this beautiful landscape.

SEGUNDO DIA: PARQUE REGIONAL DE SIERRA DE GREDOS.

SECOND DAY: SIERRA DE GREDOS REGIONAL PARK.

Culebrera europea (Circaetus gallicus).

Short-toed Eagle.

Curruca zarcera (Sylvia communis).

Common Whitethroat.

Escribano hortelano (Emberiza hortulana). Este año he visto muchos más que en la misma época del año pasado en Gredos.

Ortolan Bunting. This year I have seen many more than in the same period and place than the previous year.

Pardillo común (Carduelis cannabina) macho.

Linnet male.

Hembra.

Female.

Hembra de roquero rojo (Monticola saxatilis).

Vimos pocas hembras de collalba gris (Oenanthe oenanthe) pues la mayoría debía estar incubando.

We saw few females of Northern Wheatear as most of them should be incubating.

Sin embargo vimos muchos machos de collalba gris (Oenanthe oenanthe).

However we saw many males of Northern Wheatear.

Que lugar tan bonito.

What a beautiful place.

Bisbita alpino (Anthus spinoletta).

Water Pipit.

Que canto tan bonito y potente tienen los machos de escribano hortelano (Emberiza hortulana).

The Ortolan Bunting males have a beautiful and powerful singing.

Cuervo común (Corvus corax).

Common Raven.

Acentor común (Prunella modularis). Había muchos.

Dunnock. There were plenty.

Una mariposa ortiguera (Aglais urticae).

Collalba gris (Oenanthe oenanthe) macho.

Bisbita alpino (Anthus spinoletta).

Water Pipit.

Después de esperar un buen rato apareció este macho de pechiazul (Luscinia svecica). Mereció la pena.

After waiting a while it appeared this male of Bluethroat. It was worth it.

Un majestuoso grupo de machos de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica). En total había 19 y algunos francamente espectaculares.

A group of majestic males of Spanish Ibex. In total there were 19 and some were frankly spectaculars.

Al llegar al Mirador de Gredos algunos acentores comunes (Prunella modularis) venían a vernos e incluso se llegaban a posar en nuestras botas.

Arriving at the Mirador de Gredos some Dunnocks came to see us and even landed on our boots.

También había tres machos de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica) esperando a los paseantes para ver si les daban algo de comer.

There were also three male of Spanish Ibex waiting for walkers to see if they  gave them something to eat.

Las vistas al circo glaciar de Gredos es espectacular.

The views of the Glacial Cirque of Gredos are spectacular.

De regreso a la Plataforma volvimos a disfrutar de los deseados pechiazules (Luscinia svecica) pero en esta ocasión algo más confiados.

Returning to La Plataforma we again enjoy the desired bluethroats but on this occasion they were more confident.

Otro macho de escribano hortelano (Emberiza hortulana) en pleno canto.

Había algunos jacintos silvestres (Hyacinthoides hispanica).

There were some Spanish Bluebell.

Y cuando ya pensábamos que no íbamos a ver ningún macho de roquero rojo (Monticola saxatilis) aparecio éste en el horizonte.

And when we thought we were not going to see any male of Rock Thrush this one appeared on the horizon.

Esta lagartija serrana (Iberolacerta monticola) tomaba el sol. Se trata de una hembra llena de huevos.

This Iberian Rock Lizard was sunbathing. This is a female full of eggs.

Ya en el aparcamiento de La Plataforma se podían ver algunas hembras de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica) cada una con su cría.

Back in the parking lot of La Platform you could see some female of Spanish Ibex each with her young.

Más escribanos hortelanos (Emberiza hortulana). No puedo evitar sacarles fotos.

More ortolan buntings. I can not stop to take them photos.

Este roquero rojo (Monticola saxatilis) macho apareció muy cerca de la furgoneta.

This Rock Thrush male appeared near the van.

De regreso a Madrid pudimos ver este macho de roquero solitario (Monticola solitarius).

Returning to Madrid we saw this male of Blue Rock Thrush.

Y arroyos de aguas cristalinas.

And streams of clear water.

Zorzal charlo (Turdus viscivorus).

Mistle Thrush.

Escribano soteño (Emberiza cirlus) macho.

Cirl Bunting male.

Alcaudón común (Lanius senator).

Woodchat Shrike.

Y aunque habíamos visto varios alcaudones dorsirrojos (Lanius collurio) esté fue el único que pude fotografiar aunque a través del parabrisas de la furgoneta. Este era un macho.

And although we had seen several Red-backed Shrikes this was the only one I was able to photograph though through the windshield of the van. This was a male.

Y con esta atípica foto de una agachadiza común (Gallinago gallinago), pues estaba posada en una torre de tendido eléctrico, me despido de todos vosotros hasta la próxima entrada.
