En esta ocasión os muestro lo que pude fotografiar en el viaje que hicimos al embalse de Picadas en la Sierra Oeste de Madrid y a la zona de Gerindote en Toledo el 27 de enero.
his time I show you what I was able to photograph on the trip we made to Picadas Reservoirto at Sierra Oeste of Madrid and the Gerindote area in Toledo on January 27.
El tiempo fue bueno pero algo caluroso para esta época del año.
The weather was good but quite hot for this time of year.
Lo primero que vimos fue esta pareja de águila imperial ibérica (Aquila
adalberti). Se aprecia que la hembra es el ejemplar de abajo que es más corpulenta que el macho.
The first thing we saw was this pair of Spanish
Imperial Eagle. You can see that the female is the lower specimen that is larger than the male.
La última vez que visité este lugar también pasó muy bajo este ultraligero espantándolo todo.
The last time I visited this place, this ultralight also passed very low, scaring everything away.
Había dos salamanquesas comunes (Tarentola mauritanica) calentándose al sol.
There were two Common Wall Geckos warming themselves in the sun.
La primer águila real que vimos (Aquila
chrysaetos).
The first golden eagle we saw.
El sitio es muy bonito.
The place is very beautiful.
Vimos bastantes buitres leonados (Gyps
fulvus).
We saw quite a few Griffon Vultures.
Y unos pocos buitres negros (Aegypius
monachus).
And a few Black Vultures.
Al poco rato, una pareja de águilas reales (Aquila
chrysaetos) nos sobrevolaron muy cerca.
Shortly after, a pair of Golden Eagles flew very close to us.
Beautiful specimens.
Todos los regatos de la zona llevaban bastante agua.
All streams in the area carried a lot of water.
Un bonito macho de colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus
ochruros).
A nice male Black Redstart.
También había algunos aviones roqueros (Ptyonoprogne
rupestris).
There were also some Crag
Martin.
Después de comer en el merendero de Picadas, nos fuimos de camino hacia Gerindote. En el camino vimos a esta águila imperial ibérica (Aquila
adalberti).
After eating at the Picadas picnic area, we headed towards Gerindote. On the way we saw this Spanish
Imperial Eagle.
Y sobrevolando la zona un joven de la misma especie.
And flying over the area a juvenile of the same species.
Ya en la zona de Gerindote, vimos los primeros grupos de avutardas euroasiáticas (Otis
tarda).
Already in the Gerindote area, we saw the first groups of Great Bustard.
Mientras buscábamos otras aves esteparias, que no pudimos ver ninguna, pudimos ver estos tres chorlitos dorados europeos (Pluvialis
apricaria).
While we were looking for other Steppe Birds, of which we couldn't see any, we were able to see these three European Golden Plovers.
Y vimos más grupos de avutardas euroasiática (Otis
tarda)
And we saw more flocks of Great Bustard.
Cuando volvíamos a Madrid, hicimos una parada en una gasolinera y pudimos ver numerosos bandos de muchas grullas comunes (Grus grus) que iban al embalse de Castrejón a pasar la noche.
When we were returning to Madrid, we made a stop at a gas station and we were able to see numerous flocks of many Common Cranes that were going to Castrejón reservoir to spend the night.
