Esta vez s enseño algunas aves que pudimos ver en nuestra excursión programada a Patones, Valle del Jarama y humedales de Madrid del 9 de abril.

This time I show youbsome Birds that we could see in our scheduled trip to Patones, Valle del Jarama and wetlands of Madrid on April 9.

Durante la mañana estuvo muy nublado pero por la tarde salió el sol e hizo una tarde estupenda.

During the morning it was very cloudy but in the afternoon the sun came out and it was a pleasant afternoon.

Nuestro primer punto de observación fue Patones y sus alrededores.
Our first observation place was Patones and its surroundings.

Había varias pareja de roquero solitario (Monticola solitarius). En la foto una hembra con material para su nido.

There were several pairs of Blue Rock Thrush. In the photo a female with material for her nest.

Me encantan los petirrojos europeos (Erithacus rubecula). Son bonitos, bastante mansos y encima cantan muy bien.

I love European Robins. They are pretty, quite tame and on top of that they sing very well.

Un inquieto mosquitero común (Phylloscopus collybita).

A restless Common Chiffchaff.

También estaban con los preliminares de la reproducción los aviones roqueros (Ptyonoprogne rupestris).

Crag Martins were also with the breeding preliminaries.

Vimos bastantes rabilargos ibéricos (Cyanopica kooki).

We saw quite a few Iberian Magpie.

Golondrina común (Hirundo rustica).

Barn Swallow.

Son más bonitas por detrás que es cuando puedes apreciar el azul de su plumaje.

They are prettier from behind, which is when you can appreciate the blue of their plumage.

Un macho de aguilucho cenizo (Circus pygargus). El primero que veía esta temporada.

A male Montagu's Harrier (Circus pygargus). The first I saw this season.

Una pareja de chovas piquirrojas (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) estaba en plena construcción de su nido.

A pair of Red-billed Choughs was building their nest.

Un macho de roquero solitario (Monticola solitarius).

A Blue Rock Thrush male.

Vimos una pareja de lavandera cascadeña (Motacilla cinerea). En la foto el macho.

We saw a pair of Grey Wagtail. In the photo the male.

Y también había algunas lavanderas blancas (Motacilla alba). En la foto un macho.

And there were also some White Wagtails. In the photo a male.

Una hembra.

A female.

Grajilla occidental (Corvus monedula).

Eurasian Jackdaw.

Había varias ranas comunes (Pelophylax perezi).

There were several Iberian Waterfrog.

Escribano montesino (Emberiza cia).

Rock Bunting.

Otro.

Another one.

Después nos fuimos al Valle del Jarama.

Then we went to the Jarama Valley.

Tuvimos mucha suerte pues pudimos ver bastantes avutardas comunes (Otis tarda). Lo más destacado fue este macho que estuvo durante una media hora haciendo la rueda no muy lejos de donde nosotros estábamos. Fue una pena la cantidad de reverberación que al medio día había.

We were very lucky as we were able to see quite a few Great Bustards. The highlight was this male who spent half an hour displaying not far from where we were. It was a shame how much reverberation there was at noon.

Un águila imperial (Aquila adalberti) andaba a la caza de conejos por la zona.

A Spanish Imperila Eagle was hunting rabbits in the area.

Un escribano triguero (Emberiza calandra).

A corn Bunting.

Y por último visitamos un humedal del Parque Regional del Sureste de Madrid.

And finally we visited a wetland in the Regional Park of the Southeast of Madrid.

Había varias parejas de somormujo lavanco (Podiceps cristatus).

There were several pairs of Great Crested Grebe.

Un bonito macho de porrón europeo (Aythya ferina).

A beautiful Common Pochard male.

Una hembra de pico menor (Dryobates minor). Los macho tienen el píleo rojo y como podéis ver en este caso es blancuzco.

A female Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. Males have a red cap and as you can see in this case it is whitish.

Milano negro (Milvus migrans).

Black Kite.

También vimos este macho de colirrojo real (Phoenicurus phoenicurus) que estaba de paso en su migración hacia el norte.

We also saw this male Common Redstart passing through on his northward migration.

En una de las lagunas del complejo lagunar había una pareja de garzas reales (Ardea cinerea) que estaba haciendo el nido.

In one of the lagoons of the lagoon complex there was a pair of Gray Heron that were making their nest.

Y muy cerca suyo, había una gran colonia de garzas imperiales (Ardea purpurea). 

And very close to them, there was a large colony of Purple Herons.

Es la mayor colonia de garzas imperiales (Ardea purpurea) que he visto hasta ahora.

It is the largest colony of purple herons that I have seen so far.

Como podéis apreciar en la imagen de abajo, se ven un total de 14 ejemplares pero en la foto no me cabían todas las que había y algunas se las veía entrar pero luego desaparecían detrás de las eneas.

As you can see in the image below, you can see a total of 14 specimens but in the photo I couldn't fit all the ones that were there and some of them were seen entering but then they disappeared behind reeds.
