Esta entrada es sobre la Sierra de Gredos. Todos los años tengo la suerte de subir a Gredos en Primavera en nuestra excursión programada. Este año he tenido mucha suerte pues al final además de la programada tuve otros dos viajes privados. 

This post is about the Sierra de Gredos. Every year I have luck to go up to Gredos in Spring on our scheduled excursion. This year I had much more because at the end of the spring I had two other private trips. 

Las aves estrella de estas excursiones , aunque no son las únicas, son el ruiseñor pechiazul (Luscinia svecica), el roquero rojo (Monticola saxatilis) y el escribano hortelano (Emberiza hortulana). En todas las excursiones las pudimos ver y fotografiar.

The star Birds of these trips, although they are not the only ones, are the Bluethroat, the Rock Thrush and the Ortolan Bunting. In all the excursions we could see and photograph them.

Gracias a Dios, en las tres excursiones hizo buen tiempo.

Thank God, on all three trips we had good weather.

En esta ocasión he decidido aglutinar por especies los tres días.

On this occasion I decided to agglutinate by species the three days.

Aunque los habíamos visto en las dos excursiones anteriores, no fue hasta la tercera excursión donde pude sacar al ruiseñor pechiazul (Luscinia svecica) como a mi me apetecía a pesar de haber sido algo tardía a mediados de junio. Encima de un piorno florido y con el fondo también tintado de amarillo.

Although we had seen them in the two previous trips, it was not until the third one that I was able to get the Bluethroat as I wanted to, despite having been somewhat late in mid-June. On a flowery broom and with the background also tinted yellow.

La alondra totovía (Lullula arborea) la vemos antes de llegar a nuestro destino pues en la Sierra no se ven.

The Wood Lark we see before reaching our destination because in the Sierra are not seen.

Siempre me llama la atención el tamaño de la uña del dedo trasero de los aláudidos y bisbitas.

I am always struck by the size of the nail of the back finger of  Larks and Pipits.

A este zarcero políglota (Hippolais polyglotta) le costó un poco acostumbrarse a nuestra presencia.

It was a bit difficult for this Melodious Warbler to get used to our presence.

Pero al final se portó a las mil maravillas.

But in the end he behaved very well.

Este año se veían muchos escribanos hortelanos (Emberiza hortulana).

This year there were many Ortolan Bunting.

Es difícil no poner todas las fotos que pude sacar.

It's hard not to put all the pictures I could get.

Pues son tan bonitos.

Because they are so beautiful.

Solo vi machos de roqueros rojos (Monticola saxatilis).

I only saw Rock Thrush males.

Este fue el que más cerca tuvimos.

This was the closest we had.

Vimos varios lagartos verdinegros (Lacerta schreiberi).

We saw several Iberian Emerald Lizards.

También vimos muchas cabras montesas (Capra pyrenaica).

We also saw many Spanish Ibex.

También había muchas collalbas grises (Oenanthe oenanthe). En su mayoría machos pues las hembras debían estar incubando.

There were also many Northern Wheatear. Mostly males because the females should be incubating.

Me encanta el dibujo de las rectrices de esta especie.

I love the tail drawing of this species.

Y en la última excursión ya vimos alguna con comida para sus pollos.

And on the last trip we saw some with food for their chicks.

Es una pena que los pardillos comunes (Carduelis cannabina) sean tan desconfiados y no se les pueda acercar mucho.

It is a pity that Common Linnets are so distrustful and can not be approached too much.

Vimos varias lagartijas serranas (Iberolacerta monticola). En la foto un macho.

We saw several Iberian Rock Lizards. male. In the photo a male.

Las alondras comunes (Alauda arvensis) amenizan todo el tiempo.

The Sky Larks liven you up all the time.

Cuervo grande (Corvus corax).

Buitre negro (Aegypius monachus).

Un bonito mosquitero papialbo (Phylloscopus bonelli).

A beautiful Western Bonelli's Warbler.

Aunque me pareció que había menos escribanos montesinos (Emberiza cia) pudimos sacar buenas fotos.

Although it seemed to me that there were less Rock Buntings we were able to take good pictures.

Solo vimos un mirlo acuático europeo (Cinclus cinclus) en todas las excursiones.

We only saw a White-throated Dipper on all the trips.

Macho de alcaudón dorsirrojo (Lanius collurio).

Águila calzada (Aquila pennata) morfo claro.

Pale morph Booted Eagle.

Había menos flores y mariposas que otros años. No se si sería por haber sido un año más seco de lo normal. En la foto un jacinto silvestre.

There were fewer Flowers and Butterflies than other years. I do not know if it would be because this year had been drier than normal. In the photo a Wild Hyacinth.

Curruca zarcera (Sylvia communis).

Como de costumbre había muchos acentores comunes (Prunella modularis).

As usual there were many Dunnock.

También me hizo mucha ilusión poder fotografiarlos entre los piornos en flor.

I was also very excited to photograph them among blooming brooms.

Lavandera boyera (Motacilla flava) macho.

Male Yellow Wagtail.

Macho de lavandera cascadeña (Motacilla cinerea).

Male Grey Wagtail.

No todos los años veo roquero solitario (Monticola solitarius) por la Plataforma. Este año por allí andaba una pareja.

Not every year I see Blue Rock Thrush at the Plataforma. This year there was a pair.

Macho de colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochruros).

Yo creo que este gran macho de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica) fue el que tenía los cuernos más grandes.

I believe that this great male Spanish Ibex was the one with largest horns.

Impresionante.

Awesome.

Algunas veces se ve su cornamenta entre los piornos pero no se les ve enteros.

Sometimes their horns are seen among the broom but they are not entirely seen.

Un gran rebaño de machos de distintas edades.

Como os decía al principio vimos a los ruiseñores pechiazules (Luscinia svecica). Este fue en la primera.

As I was saying at the beginning, we saw Bluethroats in all trips. This was in the first one.

Pero no como a mi me gusta verlos. Esta foto es de la segunda excursión.

But not like I like to see them. This photo is from the second excursion.

La tercera fue la mejor con mucha diferencia. Vimos muchos y muy activos durante casi todo el día.

The third was the best by far. We saw many and very active for most of the day.

Cuando ya pensaba que este año no había sido bueno para avistar esta especie, tuve que cambiar de opinión pues ese día estaban pletóricos.

When I thought that this year had not been good for sighting this species, I had to change my mind because that day they were plethoric.

Cuando estábamos disfrutando con los ruiseñores pechiazules, me encontré con un amigo que es guía local y ambos coincidimos en lo de la escasez de esta especie este año. Pero ese día nos hizo comprender que aunque están no siempre se les ve y menos aún fotografiar. Además resaltamos que ya estaba la estación avanzada para verlos tan activos y cantando. También pudimos ver algunas hembras con comida para los pollos.

When we were enjoying with the Bluethroats, I find a friend who is a local guide and we both agreed on the shortage of this species this year. But that day made us understand that although they are there but not always seen, let alone photograph them. We also highlighted that this was a late dates to see them so active and singing. We could also see some females with food for the chicks.

Pero la naturaleza es así. Nunca se sabe.

But nature is like that. You never know.
