Hello again.

Esta entrada es sobre el viaje que hemos hecho este año a las Hoces del Alto Ebro. Además de ser un sitio maravilloso con unas vistas espectaculares de las haces tiene una gran variedad de flora y fauna.
This post is about the trip we made this year to the Alto Ebro Gorges. Besides being a wonderful site with spectacular views of the gorges it has a great variety of flora and fauna.

El tiempo fue regular pues llovió en los dos días sin embargo durante las mañanas lucia el sol.
Weather was not very good because it rained duringin both days however during the mornings sun was shaining.

Estas son algunas de las cosas que pudimos ver pues, como ya os comentaba, las tardes eran lluviosas y no se podían sacar fotos.
These are some of the things we could see because, as I said, the afternoons were rainy and Icould not take pictures.


Vimos muchos buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus).
We saw many Griffon Vultures.




Chochín común (Troglodytes troglodytes).
Winter Wren.


Los guisantes silvestres (Pisum sativum) estaban en flor.
Wild Pea were in bloom.


Al igual que algunas orquídeas silvestres. En la foto una orquídea piramidal (Anacamptis pyramidalis).
As same as some wild Orchids. In the photo a Pyramidal Orchid.


Esta otra orquídea es una flor de la abeja (Ophrys apifera).
This one is a Bee Orchid.



Carbonero palustre (Poecile palustris).
Marsh Tit.


Es una pena que, en nuestro territorio, esta especie tenga una distribución limitada al norte de España y por eso la veo en pocas ocasiones.
It is a pity that, in our territory, this species has a limited distribution to northern Spain and that is why I see it so few times.




Había un buena cosecha de cerezas.
There was a good crop of Cherries.


Alimoche común (Neophron percnopterus).
Egyptian Vulture.


Daba gusto ver como los vencejos reales (Apus melba) entraban a gran velocidad en sus nidos, situados en agujeros de las rocas, sin lesionarse.
It was great to see how Alpine Swift entered at high speed in their nests, located in holes in the rocks, without being injured.

Fue una pena que no pudiese sacar mejores fotos de esta especie pues estaba lloviendo copiosamente cuando visitamos una de sus colonias de cría.
It was a pity that I could not get better pictures of this species because it was raining copiously when we visited one of its breeding colonies.


Vimos varios bisbitas arbóreos (Anthus trivialis).
We saw several Tree Pipits.



Águila calzada (Aquila pennata) fase oscura.
Dark phase of Booted Eagle.


Y esta otra de fase clara.
And this one of pale phase.


Macho de curruca capirotada (Sylvia atricapilla).
Male of Blackcap.



Macho de escribano soteño (Emberiza cirlus).
Male of Cirl Bunting.




Hembra con una mantis (Mantis religiosa) para sus polluelos.
Female with a European Mantis for her chicks.


Macho de serín verdecillo (Serinus serinus).
European Serin male.


Hembra.
Female.


Mosquitero papialbo (Phylloscopus bonelli).
Western Bonelli's Warbler.


Macho de colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochruros).
Male of Black Redstart.


Vimos varios bisbitas campestres (Anthus campestris).
We saw some Tawny Pipit.



Pero todos ellos muy escondidos entre la vegetación.
But all of them hidden among vegetation.


Alondra común (Alauda arvensis).
Sky Lark.


Había muchos escribanos cerillos (Emberiza citrinella). En la fotografía un macho.
There were many Yellowhammer. In the photo a male.




Hembra con insectos para sus crías.
Female with insects for her chicks.


Joven esperando a ser cebado.
Juvenile waiting to be feeded.


Una pareja de tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).
A pair of Common Stonechat.


Pardillo común (Carduelis cannabina).
Common Linnet.


Macho de caballito del diablo azul (Calopteryx virgo) macho.
Male of Demoiselle.


Hembra.
Female.


Una bella Gitana  (Zygaena trifolii).
A beautiful Five-spot Burnet.


Una de las mariposas que más me gustan la pavo real (Aglais io). También vimos varias de la que más me gusta la apolo (Parnassius apollo) pero ninguna se posó para poderle sacarle una foto.
One of the butterflies that I like most the Peacock. We also saw several of my favorites the Apollo but none of them posed to able me to take a picture.

Curruca mosquitera (Sylvia borin).
Garden Warbler.


Vencejo común (Apus apus).
Common Swift.



Torcecuello euroasiático (Jynx torquilla).
Eurasian Wryneck.


Otra de la misma ave pero solo para los que tengan buena vista.
Another of the same Bird but only for those who have good eyesight.


Gorrión chillón (Petronia petronia).
Rock Sparrow.


No fue fácil encontrar una pareja de alcaudones dorsirrojos (Lanius collurio). En la foto un macho.
It was not easy to find a pair of Red-backed Shrikes. In the photo a male.

Female.


Lavandera blanca (Motacilla alba).
White Wagtail.


Jilguero europeo (Carduelis carduelis).
European Goldfinch.


El cielo se cubrió con amenazadoras nubes con este dibujo que no había visto nunca. Parecía el cascarón de una tortuga.
The sky was covered with threatening clouds with this drawing that I had never seen before. It looked like the shell of a Turtle.
