Hello once again.
En esta ocasión os muestro algunas de las especies de aves vistas en el último viaje a la Reserva Natural Lagunas de Villafáfila situada al noreste de Zamora en la comarca Tierra de Campos. Esta reserva tiene más de 32 mil hectáreas siendo uno de los mejores humedales del norte Peninsular y donde se encuentra la mayor concentración de avutardas comunes del Mundo.
This time I show you some of the bird species seen on my last trip to Villafáfila Lagoons Nature Reserve located Northeast of Zamora in the region Tierra de Campos. This Reserve has more than 32 thousand hectares been one of the best wetlands of the northern Spain and home to the largest concentration of Great Bustards of the World.
Fuimos a mediados del mes de diciembre y aunque las lagunas no tenían mucha agua disfrutamos de un día estupendo en cuanto a la observación de aves se refiere. Nos dijeron en la Casa Del Parque que habría unos 6.000 ánsares comunes y que se estaban viendo bastantes búhos campestres.
We went in mid-December and although the lagoons had not much water we enjoyed a great day in terms of birding. We were told at the Casa Del Parque that it would be about 6,000 Greylag Geese and that they were seeing quite a few Short-eared Owls.
Creo que vimos mas ánsares comunes de los que nos habían dicho que había y muy pocas anátidas al haber tan poca agua en las lagunas.
I think we saw more Greylag Geese from which we were told and there were very few ducks because the Lagoons had very little water.
Nada más llegar pudimos disfrutar de esta vista, un nutrido grupo de ánsares comunes (Anser
anser).
Upon arrival we were able to enjoy this view, a large group of Greylag Geese.
Y de algunos grupos más reducidos.
And some smaller groups.
También había bastantes avefrías europeas (Vanellus
vanellus).
There were also many Northern
Lapwings.
Andes azulones (Anas
platyrhynchos), cercetas comunes (Anas
crecca) y cucharas comunes (Anas
clypeata).
Mallards, Common Teals and Northern
Shovelers.
También vimos algunos aguiluchos laguneros accidentales (Circus
aeruginosus).
We also saw some Eurasian Marsh
Harriers.
Y más ánsares comunes (Anser anser) que nos entretenían con sus idas y venidas.
And more Greylag Geese who entertained us with their comings and goings.
He de decir que pudimos observar como un señor del pueblo que iba paseando también iba asustando a todos los ánsares Comunes (Anser anser) que veía a su paso. Que pena que haya personas que no les guste ver como estas aves se comen sus sembrados a pesar de estar subvencionado el posible deterioro que sufran sus siembras.
I have to say that we saw as a man of the village who was walking and at the same time scaring all Greylag Geese that he was seen while walking. It's too bad there are people who do not like seeing how these birds eat their crops despite being subsidized for the possible deterioration they suffer in their crops.
Por suerte para nosotros, algunos de los ánsares comunes (Anser anser) asustados vinieron a la laguna donde nos encontrábamos a protegerse y disfrutamos con su entrada.
Luckily for us, some of the frightened Greylag Geese came to the Lagoon where we were to be protected and we enjoyed with their coming.
Sin embargo otros decidieron irse a otros lugares más lejanos.
But others decided to go further away.
En nuestro recorrido por los alrededores de las Lagunas vimos bastantes busardos ratoneros (Buteo buteo).
In our tour around the Lagoonss we saw quite a few Common
Buzzard.
Desde el observatorio de Otero de Sariegos vimos pasar este búho campestre (Asio
flammeus).
From the observatory Otero de Sariegos we saw thisShort-eared
Owl.
Y en poco tiempo había tres búhos campestres (Asio flammeus) que tomaron una considerable altura y se fueron en dirección sureste.
And before long there were three Short-eared Owls who took a considerable height and left in a southeast direction.
Un bando de pardillos comunes (Carduelis
cannabina).
A flock of Linnets.
Y más ánsares comunes (Anser anser).
And some more Greylag Geese.
Avefría europea (Vanellus
vanellus).
Northern
Lapwing.
También vimos bastantes milanos reales (Milvus
milvus).
We also saw many Red Kites.
Y en un sembrado en compañía de algunas avefrías europeas (Vanellus vanellus) observamos durante un buen rato a tres chorlitos dorados europeos (Pluvialis
apricaria).
And in a field in the company of some Northern Lapwing we observed for a while three European Golden Plover.
No muy lejos de allí vimos un total de siete búhos campestres (Asio flammeus).
Not far from there we saw a total of seven Short-eared Owls.
Que al poco rato desaparecieron entre los sembrados y cunetas. Pero antes, me dio tiempo de sacarles estas fotos.
That soon disappeared into the fields and roadside ditches. But before, I had time to took these pictures of them.
Un grupo de avutardas comunes (Otis
tarda).
A group of Common Bustards.
Y otro más.
And another one.
Este fue el único halcón peregrino (Falco
peregrinus) que observamos durante todo el día.
This was the only Peregrine Falcon we observe throughout the day.
Y no muy lejos observamos más avutardas comunes (Otis tarda) aunque los bandos eran menos numerosos que los primeros.
And not far we observe some more Common Bustard although these floks were less numerous than the former.
En otro de los rastrojos había como unos treinta chorlitos dorados europeos (Pluvialis apricaria).
In another stubble there was about thirty European Golden Plover.
También en esta ocasión en compañía de avefrías europeas (Vanellus vanellus).
Also at this time accompanied by Northern Lapwings.
El tiempo transcurría y decidimos regresar al observatorio de Otero de Sariegos para ver el atardecer y la entrada de ánsares comunes (Anser
anser) a la laguna.
Time passed and we decided to return to Otero de Sariegos observatory to watch the sunset and the entry of Greylag Geese to the lagoon.
Hubo bastante movimiento y mientras unos llegaban,
There was plenty movement and while some came,
otros se iban.
others left.
También se veían bandos bastante numerosos de estorninos.
Quite large flocks of starlings were also seen.
Y con este ir y venir de los ánsares comunes (Anser anser) me despido de todos vosotros hasta la próxima entrada.
