Hello again.
Como continuación a mi anterior entrada del viaje de cinco días por la costa Andaluza, os voy a mostrar lo que dieron de sí los siguientes días. Los otros lugares que visitamos fueron el Brazo del Este, la Janda y Chiclana de la Frontera y el último día fuimos a Málaga a la desembocadura del Río Guadalhorce.
Further to my previous post of November five-day trip in by the Andalusian Coast, I'll show you what they gave from it the following days. The next places we visited were the Brazo del Este, the Janda and Chiclana de la Frontera and the last day we went to Malaga to the Desembocadura del Río Guadalhorce.
El tiempo fue regular aunque con las previsiones que habían dado, mucho mejor de lo esperado.
The weather was fair but with weather forecasts that had been given, much better than expected.

Lo primero que vimos nada más llegar a nuestro destino fueron estas dos garcillas cangrejeras (Ardeola ralloides). Que tranquilas estaban y como las disfrutamos viendo como pescaban a sus anchas. No me esperaba encontrarme con estos dos individuos tan tarde, mediados de noviembre, aunque se que algunas permanecen durante el invierno aunque al ser tan pocas las probabilidades de avistarlas se reducen mucho. Un golpe de suerte.
The first thing we saw upon arriving at our destination were these two Squacco Herons. They were calm and we enjoyed watching how them were fishing. I did not expect to watch these two individuals so late, mid-November, although some remain during the winter as they remain so few the chances of seen them are greatly reduced. A lucky break.

Increíble la cantidad de calamones comunes (Porphyrio
porphyrio) que pudimos ver. He leido en varios foros que no había muchos este año pero a mí me pareció que había muchos. Lo peor es que estaban muy asustadizos y llegué a pensar que los están cazando pues huían a mucha distancia nuestra.
Amazing how many Purple Swamp-hen we saw. I have read in various forums that there were not many this year but seems to me that there were many. The worst thing is that they were very skittish and I even thought that they have been hunted because many were fleeing too far away from us.

Y ahora le toca el turno a las aves invasoras que tan mala fama tienen. En la foto un tejedor de cabeza negra anillado (Ploceus melanocephala).
And now it is the turn to invasive Birds that have such a bad reputation. In the picture a Black-headed Weaver ringed.

Fue una pena que no viéramos grandes rapaces pero estaban haciendo reparaciones en el tendido eléctrico y había muchos operarios por la zona. En la foto un joven de cigüeña negra (Ciconia

It was a shame we did not see Large Raptors but they were doing repairs on power lines and there were many workers in the area. The photo shows a young Black Stork.
