Esta semana os muestro algunas de las aves que vimos en un viaje de finales de mayo por alguno de los humedales Manchegos.
This week I show you some of the Birds that we saw on a trip in late May through some of the wetlands of La Mancha.

El tiempo fue bueno si bien hacia bastante calor.
Weather was good although it was quite hot.


Una pareja de gangas ortega (Pterocles orientalis).La hembra en primer plano.

Two pairs.

También vimos bastantes gangas ibéricas (Pterocles alchata). En la foto un macho.
We also saw quite a few Pin-tailed Sandgrouses. In the photo a male.

Las dos especies volando juntas.

Pagaza piconegra (Gelochelidon nilotica).

Avoceta común (Recurvirostra avosetta).

Carricero común (Acrocephalus scirpaceus).
Reed Warbler.


Que difícil es fotografiarlos.
How difficult it is to photograph them.


Gaviota reidora (Chroicocephalus ridibundus).
Black-headed Gull.


Ya había pollos de todas las edades y algunos adultos estaban aun incubando.
There were already chicks of all ages and some adults were still incubating.


Fumarel cariblanco (Chlidonias hybrida).
Whiskered Tern.





Un grupo de flamencos comunes (Phoenicopterus ruberestaban construyendo sus nidos.
A group of Greater Flamingos were building their nests.

Mochuelo europeo (Athene noctua).
Little Owl.


Macho de verderón común (Carduelis chloris).
Male of Greenfinch. 


Joven de jilguero europeo (Carduelis carduelis).

Carraca europea (Coracias garrulus).
European Roller.



Zampullín común (Tachybaptus ruficollis).
Little Grebe.




Las fochas comunes (Fulica atra) son muy territoriales.
Common Coots are very territorial.

Hembra de ánade azulón (Anas platyrhynchos).
Female of Mallard.


En total vimos nueve espátulas comunes (Platalea leucorodia).
In total we saw nine Eurasian Spoonbills.


Buscarla unicolor (Locustella luscinioides). Se les oye muy bien pero verlas es mucho más difícil.
Savi's Warbler. You can hear them very well but see them is much more difficult.



Martinete común (Nycticorax nycticorax).
Night Heron.


Joven de golondrina común (Hirundo rustica).
Juvenile of Barn Swallow.



Macho de porrón europeo (Aythya ferina).
Male of Common Pochard.

Female with her chicks.


Macho de cigüeñuela común (Himantopus himantopus).
Male of Black-winged Stilt.

Pájaro moscón (Remiz pendulinus).

Había muchas libélulas.
There were many dragonflies.


Me costó un buen rato y cambio de teleobjetivo para pillar una al vuelo.
It took me awhile to change my telephoto lens to catch one on them flying.


Zampullín cuellinegro (Podiceps nigricollis).
Black-necked Grebe.



Chorlitejo chico (Charadrius dubius).
Little Ringed Plover.


Tórtola europea (Streptopelia turtur).
European Turtle Dove.



Carricero tordal (Acrocephalus arundinaceus).
Great Reed Warbler.




Algunas hembras estaban recogiendo material para su nido.
Some females were collecting material for their nest.




Macho de pato colorado (Netta rufina) en plena muda.
A molting male of Red-crested Pochard.

Female.



Joven.
Juvenile.



Gaviotas sombrías (Larus fuscus).
Lesser Black-backed Gulls.


Vimos bastantes garcillas cangrejeras (Ardeola ralloides).
We saw several Squacco Herons.


Pero todas ellas entre la densa vegetación.
But all of them among thick vegetation.


Macho de malvasía cabeciblanca (Oxyura leucocephala).
Male of White-headed Duck.




Hembra.
Female.


Son unos grandes buceadores.
They are great divers.
