Hola otra vez,
Hello again,

This week I show you a day trip to the Valle del Tiétar to watch Black-shouldered Kites, Common Cranes and European Golden Plovers.

We were lucky and we could enjoy the three target species.

The weather was pretty good but somewhat windy.

Just after arriving at our destination this Black-shouldered Kite was kind enough to perch close to where we were.

It's a shame that this specie is so elusive. There are very few occasions that it can be see so close.

También pudimos observar varios mochuelos europeos (Athene noctua).
We could also observe several Little Owls.

Algunos mas cerca que otros.
Some closer than others.

This male of European Serin was singing.

Bisbita pratense (Anthus pratensis).
Meadow Pipit.

Vimos varios grupos de perdices rojas (Alectoris rufa).
We saw several flocks of Red-legged Partridges.

Macho de tarabilla europea (Saxicola rubicola).
Male of Common Stonechat.

Había muchas avefrías europeas (Vanellus vanellus).
There were many Northern Lapwings.

Y varias gangas ortegas (Pterocles orientalis).
And several Black-bellied Sandgrouses.

Alcaudón real meridional (Lanius meridionalis).
Southern Grey Shrike.

We also enjoyed a lot with the presence of this awesome Spanish Imperial Eagle.

Zorzal común (Turdus philomelos).
Song Thrush.

Vimos bastantes calandrias (Melanocorypha calandra).
We saw some Calandra Larks.

Al igual que escribanos trigueros (Miliaria calandra).
As well as Corn Buntings.

We saw how this Black-shouldered kite catch a mouse and when it was enjoying its meal......

..... and came this male of Common Kestrel and try to take its prey.

Another goal of the trip was to watch Common Cranes in the Dehesas.

Impresionantes y sonoras aves.
Sonorous and awesome Birds.

White Storks were fixing their nests.

We find the European Golden Plovers together with Northern Lapwings and Spotless Starlings.

Bonitas aves.
Beautiful Birds.

They were very restless as there were several hunters in the area and they kept flying and landing again.
