Autumn at Redes Natural Park.

Hola de nuevo.
Hello again.

I dedicate this post to the Nature Reserve of Redes located in Asturias. I visit this Park at least twice a year, one in spring and another one in autumn. Besides being a unique place of unparalleled beauty it brings to my memory my youth because I used to go whith my Grandfather and afterwards whith my Father to walk by these stunning mountains.

At that time it was not unusual to see Cantabrian Capercaillie through its forests and herds of Cantabrian Chamois up to 200 specimens together. Today you can watch very few Cnatabrian Chamois and almost never the Cantabrian Capercaillie. It's a shame.

This time I was fortunate to go twice in late October and enjoy the spectacle of fall colors. On the first trip the weather was not good but in the second the sun accompanied us almost every day.

On the way to the Park I decided to go through Villafáfila to see how were its lagoons. As it had not rained much the lagoons were very dry and there were very few birds.

The most remarkable was this flock of Common Cranes.

Y algunas avutardas comunes (Otis tarda).
And some Great Bustards.

The most abundant trees in the Park are European Beech and in the lower parts Sweet Chestnut. You can also see many Holly Trees.

Both trips were made with only 4 days apart but you could see that the color had changed and Common Beech were nicer if possible.
