Una mañana en un Hide. A morning in a Hide.

Hola de nuevo,
Hello again,

This post is somewhat atypical because it is a morning I spent on Hide in the Mountain Range of Madrid. I had never been at any and I want so I can see how pictures are made been Birds so close. Furthermore I knew that a couple of Golden Eagles was coming and it was what made me decide to go with my daughter's boyfriend Unai.

The meeting our was 6:15 am and we were settled in the hide at 7:15.

The weather was good but sometimes was cloudy.

We still were hearing the guide's car that had left us in the hide when it appeared the first Red Fox.

The first Griffon Vultures came to eat walking at first light.

Red Foxes didn't not stop to collect chicken carcasses.

The Griffon vultures were approaching to the hide.

As expected soon came Common Ravens.

Algunos empezaban a comer.
Some began to eat.

While others were already with a full crop.

Y otra vez los zorros comunes (Vulpes vulpes).
And once again the Red Foxes.

We thought they would take away all the food but it wasn't because this was the last time they came.

Common Ravens also picked up and take out food. This was the busiest.

También acudieron cinco cornejas negras (Corvus corone).
It also came five Carrion Crows.

Some more Griffon Vulture pics.

Y de los cuervos (Corvus corax).
And of the Common Ravens.

And around 10:30 began to arrive some more Griffon Vultures. In the pic a juvenile.

Venían con mucha hambre.
They came very hungry.

Otro joven.
Another Juvenile.

Impresionante acercamiento.
Awesome approach.

También acudió un milano real (Milvus milvus).
Also came a Red Kite.

At 11 am all Griffon Vultures went and we saw a Golden Eagle approaching.

Majestuosa ave.
Majestic Bird.

Se fue enseguida.
It went away quickly.

Al poco rato llegaros unos pocos buitres leonados (Gyps fulvus).
After a while some Griffon Vultures came.

Un joven.
A juvenile.

Enseguida se marcharon.
Quickly they left.

Then came a Golden Eagle that didn't landed and took the bait while flying.

Enseguida regresaron las cornejas negras (Corvus corone).
Quickly returned the Carrion Crows.

And also the Golden Eagle but this time it stayed much longer.

Menudas garras tiene el animalito.
Tremendous claw has this Bird.

It seemed to be looking for a better carcass piece.

And indeed I came over in search of a better one.

He seemed not happy with the one found.

Allí hay una realmente grande.
There's a really big.

Y aterrizo el lado del hide.
And it landed really close to the hide.

Impresionante mirada.
Awesome look.

As soon as I saw the Red Kite circling close to where we were I got ready just in case it will make a dive like it did in the fist visit.

And this was the result of its fast visit.

And after a while it went back the Golden Eagle.

As it was not very hungry as is apparent by its full crop it spend some time watching to see what was going to do.

Finally it saw a desirable bait.

Y encontró una que le apeteció.
An it found a desirable.

Buena suerte magnífica ave.
Good luck magnificent Bird.

Espero no haberos aburrido mucho.
I hope not to bore you much.

Hasta la próxima entrada.
Until next post.
